Abstract Introduction Thyroid carcinomas constitute less than 3% of all cancers (1). Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) accounts for 80% and generally has a good prognosis(2). Lymph node metastases are frequently observed in cancers(30-40%). However, distant quite rare(1-4%)(2). Clinical Case A 52-year-old female patient presented to the neurosurgery department due back pain approximately 2 months. mass lesion was T9 vertebral body on thoracic CT scan, which destroying bone structure, causing...
We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of multidetector computed tomography (CT) imaging in diagnosis pleural exudates and transudates using attenuation values. This retrospective study included 106 patients who were diagnosed with effusion between January 2010 June 2012. After underwent chest CT, thoracentesis was performed first week. The values effusions measured all patients.According Light's criteria, 30 had transudates, remaining exudates. Hounsfield unit (HU) value (median, 12.5; range,...
The aim of this study was to evaluate the styloid process (SP) length in normal population using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT).In study, 160 patients who underwent paranasal MDCT between January 2012 and December were retrospectively evaluated. divided into groups according their age gender: Group 1 31-40 years old, 111 subjects; 2 41-50 49 A 98 males; B 62 females. mean SP calculated from measurements. SPs assessed for average lengths different gender groups. Student's t-test...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency circle Willis (COW) variations and measurements COW vessel diameters in Turkish population. The patient population for single-centre, retrospective formed patients who had brain magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). A total 384 subjects were included study. three-dimensional time-of-flight (TOF) technique used MRA imaging anatomy COW. Variations recorded. critical arteries measured.Adult configuration determined 326 (85%) cases, foetal 50...
The aim of the study was to investigate presence possible markers in prediction polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)-related metabolic alterations and cardiovascular events adolescent PCOS cases also applicability anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) levels for diagnosis PCOS.In this cross-sectional study, a total 75 non-obese women (adolescent group, n = 25; adult control 25) were included. Measurements copeptin, pentraxin 3 (PTX3), AMH serum performed.Serum PTX3 echocardiographic indices not...
Background. Spontaneous orbital haemorrhage is a very rare condition and vision-threatening event. It may occur due to trauma, surgery/injections, vascular anomalies, variety of systemic predisposing factors. Signs retrobulbar hemorrhage include proptosis, ophthalmoplegia, increased intraocular pressure, loss pupillary reflexes, optic disc or retinal pallor. Both Computed Tomography scan Magnetic Resonance Imaging be performed in the diagnosis. Case Report. A 31-year-old woman was referred...
Although there are a limited number of studies investigating the changes in olfactory bulb volume (OBV) and sulcus depth (OSD) values acute subacute periods after COVID-19 infection, no conducted chronic period. The aim this study is to reveal OBV OSD period.A total 83 people were included our study, including 42 normal healthy individuals (control group) 41 patients with infection (10-12 months infection). The group mean age 40.27 ± 14.5 years control 14.4. The was 67.97 14.27 mm3 94.21 7.56...
The human coccyx varies considerably in shape and size. objective of this study was to investigate the morphology morphometry on pelvic magnetic resonance imaging asymptomatic individuals among Turkish adults. This conducted retrospectively images 456 adult patients without a history trauma region. coccygeal vertebrae count, number bone segments, intercoccygeal sacrococcygeal joint fusions were determined from sagittal plane images. In addition, length angles (the angle, angle) measured.Data...
Giant hiatal hernias, generally seen at advanced ages, can rarely cause cardiac symptoms such as dyspnea and chest pain. Here, we aimed to present a case with large hernia that largely protruded intrathoracic cavity caused dyspnea, particularly postprandial period, by compressing the left atrium right pulmonary vein. We considered presenting this is rare, intra-abdominal of dyspnea.
Encephalocele is defined as herniation of the brain tissue from a bone defect in cranium. It may be congenital, traumatic, tumoural or develop spontaneously. Traumatic fronto-ethmoidal encephalocele rare and should kept mind for patients who have suffered trauma. Early diagnosis important terms preventing life-threatening complications such meningitis. cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage can easily determined with basic radiological imaging methods clinical findings. The computed tomography...
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect tumor volume on prognosis and relation with other prognostic factors in patients renal cell carcinoma (RCC).The included 46 retrospectively assessed RCC (32 males 14 females; mean age, 58.13±10.47 years) who underwent surgery between January 2002 2009. Patients were staged according clinical, radiological, pathological data. basic radiological characteristics tumors volumes defined by two observers. clinical information last health status...
RESULTS: Thirty-three cases, 14 females and 19 males with mean age 37.5±12.7, were included in the study. Ossiculoplasty was performed 8 mastoidectomy added to tympanoplasty 12 cases. Tympanic membrane intact 29 cases (87.4%) 12th postoperative month. Large perforation, adhesive tympanic membrane, especially hypertrophic middle ear mucosa found have negative impact on success of graft (p<0.01). The patients lower than without (p<0.001). Age (p=0.491), gender (p=0.567), surgical approach...
Cystic hygroma is a rare congenital malformation of the lymphatic system. It most frequently detected in head and neck region. Ultrasonography performed as first step for radiological diagnosis these lesions. Magnetic resonance imaging provides important information to guide treatment. In this paper, case reported cervicomediastinal large cystic male infant. doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.4021/jocmr1089w
Cystic hygromas/lymphangiomas are extremely rare malformations in adults. They usually seen infants and children under 2 years of age. En bloc resection is difficult due to the adhesive characteristics tumors. Inadequate surgical intervention often leads recurrent disease. We report herein case a cystic hygroma/lymphangioma that presented as an uncommon mass on cervical region adult, together with its histopathological, radiologic, operative features.
Splenic abscess due to acute brucellosis is a rare event. We report case of splenic caused by Brucella spp. in 21-year-old man. The MRI revealed sharply demarcated lesions measuring 20 and 30 mm diameter at the superior pole spleen. Positive Wright agglutination test positive blood culture confirmed diagnosis. Antibiotic therapy, without surgical intervention, was successful.
This study is important for the determination of branches and segments first atherosclerotic coronary artery. The objective was to examine role epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) volume in estimating presence localization plaque arteries. Our a retrospective study, consisting 50 male (mean age: 45.5 ± 12 yrs) 58 female 52.5 11.6 yrs). A total 108 consecutive patients underwent computerized tomography (CT) angiography. Each artery segment assessed plaque. According plaque-involved vessel, were...
