Modelling ecosystem services (ES) has become a new standard for the quantification and assessment of various ES. Multiple ES model applications are available that spatially estimate supply on basis land-use/land-cover (LULC) input data. This paper assesses how different LULC datasets affect modelling mapping case study Terceira Island, Azores (Portugal), namely: (1) EU-wide CORINE LULC, (2) Region official map (COS.A 2018) (3) remote sensing-based vegetation Island using Sentinel-2 satellite...

Abstract Context Habitat suitability for pollinator species is an important indicator pollination ecosystem service potential, i.e. biodiversity and crop provision. Modelling habitat using expert- process-based models such as ESTIMAP-pollination a common accepted approach to spatially analyse potential make recommendations planning. Objectives However, the depends not only on land use type. It also consider condition of habitat. For this reason, information was used parameter ESTIMAP...

Abstract There is a pressing need for transformative change, with vision of long-term human well-being within planetary boundaries. The lack progress—despite increasing awareness and action—illustrates how challenging it to foster change in our complex global society. Education learning are needed enable change. Transdisciplinary learning, which meaningfully integrates diverse knowledge perspectives, contributes developing an integrative understanding—a necessity tackling challenges. We...

Human reliability is an essential quality of Computer Aided Design (CAD) in new product development (NPD). Based on the proposals German VDI 2221 guideline for CAD development, a semiotic human-machine model adapted to examine human especially regarding time constraints. For this goal, experiment (n=116) with three VDI-2221 compliant modeling, design and assembly tasks was carried out empirically analyzed.

The habitat suitability for pollinators is an important factor biodiversity and crop-based ecosystem services. Most flowering plants, including wild rely on pollination services fructification reproduction. Suitable nesting sites accessible floral food resources are crucial to the abundance of pollinator insects. Therefore, service itself influenced by type land use, composition cover structures in landscape. One way estimate use computer models such as ESTIMAP InVEST. Both calculate based...

Product design requirements are often volatile and require human input. To create a deeper understanding of reliability in product design, phase-dependent multi aspect taxonomy for the description analysis has been developed. Based on this theory, different research hypotheses regarding effects variable "frequency interruption" quota fulfilled workload, frustration effort were formulated empirically analyzed by conducting laboratory experiment with 79 students from master program mechanical...

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is an essential technology in new product design. In this field of work, requirements are highly dynamic and require a large amount human input. To create deeper understanding information processing design, phase-dependent multi-aspect taxonomy for the description analysis reliability design with has been developed. Based on taxonomy, different research hypotheses regarding effects variables "frequency interruption" "amount available time" quota fulfilled...

Modelling and mapping water-related ecosystem services (ES) are getting more important in the scientific community decision making contexts. Especially straightforward, easy to operate ES model suites that based on Land Use / Cover (LULC) data have gained popularity realm, including but not limited InVEST Model Suits. sensitivity input factors has been widely assessed. However, little attention given effect modelled distribution by user decisions such as selection of LULC dataset. These...
