To promote sustainable energy storage, bio‐based phase change materials (PCMs) are being explored as alternatives to traditional paraffin‐based PCMs relying on fossil feedstock. The coconut oil derivate N,N‐bis(2‐hydroxyethyl)dodecanamide (BHD or Lauric DEA) is evaluated a PCM with high latent heat capacity of 143 J g‐1 and melting point 32‐38 °C. Using thermally induced separation (TIPS) method small amounts polyamide 12 (PA12), shape‐stable, non‐leakage produced in single cooling step....

ABSTRACT Development of effective organocatalysts for the living ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) lactones is highly desired preparation biocompatible and biodegradable polyesters with controlled microstructures physical properties. Herein, a new class hydrogen‐bond donating bisurea catalysts reported ROP under solvent‐free conditions. mediated by bisurea/7‐methyl‐1,5,7‐triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec‐5‐ene (MTBD) catalyst exhibits living/controlled manner, affording polymers copolymers...

Polymorphic crystalline structure has been a key factor determining the mechanical property and degradation behavior of biodegradable polymers. Herein, we report on polymorphic structure, phase transition, their effects poly(p-dioxanone) (PPDO), typical bioabsorbable semicrystalline polymer for biomedical applications. Both crystallization kinetics PPDO depend temperature (Tc) drastically. Melting enthalpy degree crystallinity first decrease then increase with increasing Tc. forms new...

Fibers composed of poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA) and the mosquito-repellent ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate (IR3535) were prepared by solution electrospinning. Defect-free uniform monoaxial fibers with a diameter order magnitude 1 μm obtained. Thermogravimetric analyses showed that it is possible to incorporate more than 40 m% IR3535 into PLLA fibers. Thermal structural characterization indicated facilitates crystallization formation orthorhombic α-crystals during has plasticizing effect on...

Vitrimers have been widely employed in self-healing, recyclable, and shape-shifting materials. However, the application of catalyst-free vitrimers to create self-healable mechanically robust gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) remains a challenge, often limiting potential vitrimer-based Herein, we utilized dynamic covalent bond (silyl ether) as linkage prepare GPEs, which are fully reprocessable. By incorporating polymeric ionic liquids into dynamically cross-linked networks, both ion...

Polymer/mosquito-repellent scaffolds exhibit increasing importance in long-lasting human skin protection to be used as wearable devices and allowing for controlled release of repellents. In this study, ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate (IR3535) was a environmental friendly active mosquito-repellent serving solvent form functional poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA) by crystallization-based solid–liquid thermally induced phase separation. Crystallization PLLA the presence IR3535 is faster than...

The insect repellent ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate (IR3535) was used as a functional additive for poly (l-lactic acid) (PLLA) to modify its structure and mechanical properties achieve repellency. PLLA/IR3535 mixtures at various compositions were prepared via melt extrusion. In the analyzed composition range of 0 23 m% IR3535, PLLA IR3535 miscible length scale represented by glass transition temperature. Addition resulted in significant decrease temperature PLLA, well elastic modulus,...
