Blue emitting nitrogen-doped carbon dots were synthesized using citric acid and urea through the hydrothermal method, fluorescence quantum yield was 35.08%. We discovered that N-CDs featured excellent robust stability chemical resistance. For metronidazole detection, our exhibited quick response time, high selectivity sensitivity, low cytotoxicity. Specifically, could detect in linear range of 0-179 μM, LOD 0.25 μM. Furthermore, efficaciously quenches N-CDs, possibly owing to inner filter...

Methylene blue dye, commonly used in various industries, poses significant risks to both human health and the environment due its persistence, toxicity, potential disrupt aquatic ecosystems. Exposure can cause severe conditions such as methemoglobinemia, while stability solubility allow it persist natural water systems, reducing oxygen levels harming life. In this study, novel analcime/sodium magnesium aluminum silicon silicate nanocomposites (Z1 Z2) were synthesized via a controlled...

It is essential to remove rhodamine 6G and acid orange 10 dyes from contaminated water because they can induce cancer irritate the lungs, skin, mucous, membranes, eyes. Hence, in current work, Pechini sol–gel method was used for facile synthesis of ZrO2/CdMn2O4/CdO as novel nanocomposites at 600 800 °C. The synthesized were adsorbents efficient removal aqueous media. nanocomposites, which °C, abbreviated EK600 EK800, respectively. characterized by EDS, XRD, N2 adsorption/desorption analyzer,...

Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) is a toxic gas soluble in water, H2Saq, as weak acid. Since H2Saq usually originates from the decomposition of faecal matter, its presence also indicates sewage dumping and possible parallel waterborne pathogens associated with sewage. We here present low footprint (‘frugal’) sensor an accessible resource for water quality monitoring. As sensing mechanism, we find chemical affinity thiols to gold (Au) translates H2Saq. When Au electrode used control gate (CG) or...

Abstract We use the natural zeolite clinoptilolite as sensitive element in a plasticised PVC membrane. Separating sample pool and reference with such membrane water-gated SnO2 thin-film transistor (SnO2 WGTFT) leads to potential, thus threshold shift response common drinking water pollutants Pb2+ or Cu2+ pool. Threshold ion concentration, c, follows Langmuir–Freundlich (LF) characteristic. As LF characteristic shows steepest slope limit c → 0, this opens window limits-of-detection (LoDs) far...

Cesium (Cs+) cations are rare in nature, but the β− active radioisotope 137Cs can be released from nuclear accidents and find its way into water supply, where it is harmful to humans animals who drink it. We here report a water-gated thin film transistor (WGTFT) that allows detection of Cs+ drinking at very low concentrations. The channel formed spray-pyrolyzed tin dioxide, SnO2, which gives WGTFTs with near-zero initial threshold. When WGTFT sensitized plasticized PVC membrane containing...

We introduce fluoride-selective anion exchange resin sorbents as sensitisers into membranes for water-gated field effect transistors (WGTFTs). Sorbents were prepared via metal (La or Al)-loading of a commercial macroporous aminophosphonic acid resin, PurometTM MTS9501, and filled plasticised poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) phase transfer membrane. found potentiometric response (membrane potential leading to WGTFT threshold shift) fluoride following Langmuir–Freundlich (LF) adsorption isotherm...

Morin dye is known as a cheap and readily available selective 'off → on' fluorescent sensitiser when immobilised in phase transfer membrane for the detection of Al3+ ions. Here, morin derivative, NaMSA, which dissolves water with good long-term stability used conjunction fibre-optic transducer lock-in to detect drinking below potability limit. The combination water-soluble require neither preparation nor fluorescence spectrometer yet still display high figure merit. ability recover...
