The morphological effects of heavy metal stress on the nodulation ability Rhizobium spp. and growth white clover (Trifolium repens L.) were studied in laboratory under controlled conditions. Fourteen topsoils collected from an area with elevated concentrations (Cd, Zn, Pb). White was cultivated using a specialized "rhizotron" method to observe development root nodule characteristics. Results show increasing development, especially index (i.e., number nodules per gram total fresh biomass). A...
Objective The aim of the study was to compare outcomes after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) between comparable female and male OHCA cohorts in a large nationwide registry. Methods This national multicentre retrospective, case-control propensity score-matched based on French National Cardiac Arrest Registry data from 1 July 2011 21 September 2017. Female survival rates at D30 were compared. Results At baseline 66 395 victims included, which 34.3% women. hospital admission, 18.2% for...
Iron nanoparticles were produced in a radiofrequency levitation furnace and their dimensions purity determined by scanning electron microscopy x-ray microanalysis. Confocal revealed that these particles penetrated the leaves of Aphanorrhegma when applied to plants as mineral water suspensions. This, first demonstration nanoparticle uptake bryophyte, opens way nanotoxicological studies paralleling those higher plants. The actual penetration mechanism both groups remains unknown.
Air pollution is a public health issue and the toxicity of ambient particulate matter (PM) well-recognized. Although it does not mostly contribute to total mass PM, increasing evidence indicates that ultrafine fraction has generally greater than others do. A better knowledge underlying mechanisms involved in pathological disorders related nanoparticles (NPs) remains essential. Hence, goal this study was determine whether exposure relatively low dose well-characterized iron-rich NPs (Fe-NPs)...
The aim of this study is to develop a technique visualization and staining nuclei protonemal cells Ceratodon purpureus (Hedw.) Brid. in order establish test genotoxicity (micronucleus assay). This part the development methodology for environmental risk assessment. Bryophytes are often used as biological models biomonitoring ecotoxicology. For ecotoxicology studies, there bioassays, including micronucleus assay. assay practiced higher plants; we wanted expand its use lower plants, like mosses...
