This work was aimed to isolate, purify and characterize an extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) produced by a freshwater dynamic sediment-attached micro-organism, Bacillus megaterium RB-05, study its emulsifying potential in different hydrocarbon media.Bacillus RB-05 found produce EPSs glucose mineral salts medium, maximum yield (0.864 g l(-1) ) achieved after 24-h incubation. The recovery rates of the material ion-exchange gel filtration chromatography were around 67 93%, respectively. As...

Problem statement: Freeboard requirement, a major consideration in the design of embankment dams, is controlled to great extent by crest settlements during earthquakes. Approach: The parameters that influence earthquake induced settlement had been studied using 152 published case histories on performance dams Results: Based results correlation proposed for obtaining preliminary estimates earthquake-induced settlements. used ratio peak horizontal ground acceleration and yield as estimator....

Abstract The mechanical and dynamic properties of short carbon fiber‐filled styrene–isoprene–styrene (S–I–S) block thermoplastic elastomeric composite have been studied. Brabender mixing followed by milling the fiber–rubber compositions caused about a 30‐fold decrease in fiber aspect ratio random orientation. Although low‐strain moduli increased on incorporation, tensile tear dropped anisotropy was not observed. Tan δ values at T g region decreased filler but room temperature, tan with...
