Abstract In an effort to identify potential biomarkers in lupus nephritis, urine from mice with spontaneous nephritis was screened for the presence of VCAM-1, P-selectin, TNFR-1, and CXCL16, four molecules that had previously been shown be elevated experimental immune particularly at peak disease. Interestingly, all were ∼2- 4-fold several strains including MRL/lpr, NZM2410, B6.Sle1.lpr strains, correlating well proteinuria. CXCL16 enriched compared serum active disease, expressed within...
The use of large-mode-area tapered holey fibers with collapsed air holes for refractive index sensing is demonstrated. collapsing the achieved by tapering a "slow-and-hot" method. This non adiabatic process makes core mode to couple multiple modes solid taper waist. Owing beating between transmission spectra exhibit several interference peaks. They shift remarkable longer wavelengths as external increases. peaks, combined fitting algorithm, may allow high-accuracy refractometric measurements...
A dry polymeric mixture rendered red sensitive with a dye has been used to record interference gratings and holograms. Diffraction efficiencies of ~10% can be attained exposures ~94 mJ/cm(2). If necessary the reading step done just after exposure or fixing performed light from mercury lamp.
Dichromated Gelatin (DCG) was first used in optics 1872 by Lord Rayleigh. Then, 1968, Shankoff suggested its use as a photosensitive material to record interference diffraction gratings and holograms. Diffraction efficiencies of nearly 100% were achieved. This review discusses some physical chemical characteristics DCG films; the fabrication methods applications films holography, holography real time, solar concentrators, optical elements, relative humidity sensors.
We propose a microfluidic method to measure the refractive index of liquids. This is based on dynamic focusing by capillary when liquids with different indexes are inserted into it. Fabrication such refractometer has been done encapsulating two fibers and capillary. A calibration proposed.
A new technological approach makes fabrication of relief computer-generated focusing elements for IR radiation by use a dry photopolymer recording material possible. The formation structure self-development takes place in the dark, subsequent to holographic illumination, without wet processing. Consequently these diffractive exhibit low surface scattering. wave monomer along light–darkness boundary is observed first time our knowledge and confirms previously proposed thermodynamic model...
Here we propose optofluidic spherical microlenses that can change their focal distance by varying the refractive index of liquid composes them. These lenses are fabricated in bulk a polymeric mixture. Results characterization study profile lenses, image forming capability, and behavior as function presented. Ionic liquids suggested source useful for fabricating this type lens.
In this work, we present a new method to reduce the shot noise in phase imaging of digital holograms. A spatial averaging process images reconstructed at different reconstruction distances is performed, with distance range being specified by numerical focus depth optical system. An improved image attained 50% reduction. We use integral angular spectrum as obtain single-object complex amplitude that needed perform our proposal. also show corresponding simulations and experimental results. The...
We describe a simple and versatile optical sensing device for measuring refractive index of liquids. The sensor consists sinusoidal relief grating in glass cell. Device calibration is done by pouring the cell different liquids known indices. Each time liquid poured first order intensity measured. fabrication process testing prototype described. An application measurement temperature also presented.

Because this issue journal is dedicated to Gelatin here we present a few applications of gelatin in the field optics. It understood that optics science studies production, propagation, interaction and detection light. Regarding there are some materials sensitive light (photosensitive) used like photomultipliers, CCD’s, crystals, two dimension (2D) more. Among 2D most popular through several centuries has been based photographic emulsion records spatial distributions More recently...
This paper describes the use of an optical instrument, Fabry-Perot interferometer, adapted to measure very low pressures. The interferometer consists two high-reflectance flat mirrors placed one in front another. In addition, a metallic chamber contains air or gas. faces chamber, flexible thin silicone membrane is attached and, over it, glued. other mirror rests fixed mechanical mounting. Light crosses both when it leaves them, forms interference pattern consisting concentric circular...
The fabrication and testing of glass microlenses with rod spherical shapes are described. sizes the lenses range from tens micrometers to several millimeters. surfaces were fabricated by melting method. These have been studied methods. theoretical behavior was investigated ray tracing. Some applications presented.
The application of dyed gelatin to real-time non-Fourier image processing methods and polarization holography is described. Examples in contrast reversal a transparency subtraction addition two signals are presented. In the field interference gratings have been made with beams having different orientation between them; state diffracted orders has studied.
Gelatin films glued to an O-ring are proposed as a new procedure record interference patterns when CO(2) laser is used infrared light source. With this method the unwanted effects given by asubstrate, on which thin recording film laid, avoided. To characterize medium, interferometric studies including of diffraction gratings have been done. Diffraction efficiencies ~30% obtained coherent red (0.6328-microm wavelength) was sent normally gratings. An example recorded hologram shown.
