The yields and the transverse-momentum distributions of pions, kaons, antiprotons produced in central region p¯p collisions at √s =1.8 TeV Fermilab Tevatron collider have been measured up to a charged-particle pseudorapidity density approximately 20. average transverse momentum 〈pt〉 as function 〈dNc/dη〉 for all three types particles is presented.Received 14 July 1989DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.64.991©1990 American Physical Society
The correlations between charged particle multiplicitie produced in forward and backward pseudorapidity regions pp̄ interactions have been measured with a 240 element scintillator hodoscope. correlation coefficient the variance of difference multiplicities two were deterermined for s=0.3−1.8 TeV. These results interpreted terms cluster model production.
Significant two-particle correlations of dynamical origin are observed in 200 GeV/c ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}p$ inclusive interactions. This is demonstrated by comparison with kinematic calculated from an independent-particle-emission model. Two distinct correlation types observed: (a) unlike-particle length \ensuremath{\sim} 1.3 rapidity units independent azimuthal separation, and (b) like-particle 0.4 which only for small separations.
The transverse-momentum spectra of lambdas (${\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{0}, {\overline{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}^{0}$) produced in the central region has been measured $\overline{p}p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.8$ TeV Fermilab Collider. We find that average transverse momentum increases more rapidly with center-of-mass energy than charged particles, and ratio to particles as a function energy.
The production properties of lambdas (Λ0,¯Λ0) and cascades (Ξ−,¯Ξ−) in the central region ¯pp collisions at √s=1.8 TeV Fermilab collider are reported. transverse-momentum spectra measured as a function multiplicity ratios to protons (p,¯p) all charged particles studied transverse momentum multiplicity. Moreover average ratio presented.Received 7 November 1991DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.46.2773©1992 American Physical Society
We present the results of a search for production light elements in p¯p collisions at Fermilab Tevatron collider. Momentum, time flight, and dE/dx measurements are used to distinguish nuclei from elementary particles. A ratio deuterium hydrogen is calculated compared primordial value big bang model. Some evidence tritium found none helium isotopes.Received 10 February 2000DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.62.072004©2000 American Physical Society
We have developed the baseline design for a straw drift tube tracking system Solenoidal Detector Collaboration (SDC) detector. The was designed to operate in high-rate environment of high luminosity hadron collider. present an overview and requirements it expected fulfill. describe construction properties tubes. discuss carbon-fiber foam-laminate shell, which supported wire tension held straws alignment. also descriptions designs front-end digitization electronics as well associated with...
For nondiffractive ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}p$ interactions at high energy we find that the dependence of cross section on charge multiplicity in each c.m. hemisphere exhibits Koba-Nielsen-Olesen scaling. We use this behavior to extract a for diffractive excitation 3.4\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2 mb 200 GeV/c. attribute \ensuremath{\sim}55% pion excitation, with mean breakup \ensuremath{\sim}2.9, \ensuremath{\sim}30% proton \ensuremath{\sim}2.2 and \ensuremath{\sim}15% double...
Pion pair production is studied in the pure state of isospin $T=0$ using reaction $\mathrm{dd}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{dd}\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\pi}$ a bubble chamber experiment. The data are compared detail with one-pion-exchange and Reggeized model including proper Bose symmetrization effects deuteron spin. No additional $\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\pi}$ interaction necessary to explain our data. A mass plot bins close experimental resolution presented as an incentive for...
This deuterium bubble-chamber experiment gives an upper limit of 0.13% for the branching ratio $\frac{(\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}+{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}+{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})}{(\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{all}\mathrm{modes})}$ and indicates agreement with ordinary Dalitz decay $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}+{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}+\ensuremath{\gamma}$.
Several investigations were conducted to demonstrate the capabilities of a straw drift tube outer tracking system for SDC detector as described in previous article. These include electrical properties and aging tubes well measurements electron times 2 T magnetic field. Measurements characterizing radiation hardness processes used fabricate front-end electronics are also included. We present performance characteristics prototype modules read out through this some data on track trigger system.
We have made a measurement of very-low-energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ pair production from ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}p$ collisions at 18 GeV/c. Using the SLAC 1-m bubble chamber to study sample 178\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{3}$ interactions, we find signal centrally produced direct pairs which accounts for (48\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}13)% all detected with $|x|<0.02$ and ${P}_{T}<10$ MeV/c. This agrees calculation internal conversion...
We study the charge structure on rapidity axis for particles produced by 200-GeV/c ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}p$ interactions, with charge-zone technique. observe a constant density of zones around zero in center-of-mass frame, perhaps indicating saturation short-range forces responsible formation zones. Several characteristics such as multiplicity and interparticle distances central show similarities those end when there are no leading particles. Comparison Monte Carlo simulated...
