Soil trace gas flux rates derived from closed-transient chamber-based techniques rely on estimating the rate of change in concentrations prior to disturbance by chamber. Several regression methods are available for this change, all which require selecting a fitting window over apply regression. Window selection has historically been subjective and reliant expert knowledge, using information only small subset measurements fit larger dataset. This somewhat arbitrary approach overlooks...
In extra‐long road tunnels (>10 km), the interior zone accounts for 95% of total tunnel length. Driving an extended period in such a monotonous and dimly lit environment causes heavy visual loads drivers undermines safe operation driving comfort. This study investigated changing patterns drivers’ while through tunnels. real vehicle experiment, pupil diameter, fixation duration, electroencephalogram power spectral density, standard deviation normal to normal, root mean square successive...
This study describes applying the visual target color and spectra of light sources to calculate perceived luminance in a tunnel interior lighting environment. The proposed approach aims identify combined effects source, surface color, human eye on perception new method was tested DIALux software using three light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with correlated temperatures (CCTs) 3000 K, 4000 6000 as well four observed targets red, yellow, blue, green colors. Overall findings demonstrated that yellow...
Owing to the special tubular structural characteristics of highway tunnels, drivers typically experience a significant change in visual luminance when entering which seriously impacts driving safety. This paper proposes lighting scheme based on optical fiber technology introduce natural light into tunnel portal section. First, an on-demand use daylight is designed by developing system, demand algorithm, and control scheme. Furthermore, applied physical tunnel, safety energy-saving potential...
Abstract To investigate the load and stress characteristics of underground square arch gallery, a numerical model was proposed. Equivalent stress, lateral displacement vertical structure different angles were discussed, with increase filling height, appropriate section angle selected according to variation rules stress. The results show that maximum Mises equivalent is lower when top Angle 50° than other two angles. transverse smallest pipe 50°, has better ability resist displacement.
Drivers passing through an extra-long tunnel are confined in airtight, low-luminance, monotonous light environment for a long time. That can cause visual overload and delayed reaction times, seriously threatening driving safety. To investigate the influence of on traffic safety tunnels with increased length, five were studied: Qinlingzhongnanshan (18 km), Chengkai (11.5 Wujialiang (6.6 Shuanghekou (3.0 Caishenliang (634 m) tunnels. Eighteen drivers selected to perform real vehicle...
In recent years, some expressway tunnels have started broadcasting warning sounds, such as fire alarms, to improve driver attention and traffic safety. However, there is few research on it, in contrast previous studies, we considered different evaluation indices through field measurement determine the effectiveness of this practice. The characteristics three sound signals, i.e., alarm, dynamic music, voice command, a tunnel were analyzed using MATLAB.Considering pupil diameter blink duration...
