The theory of rotational-pucker-vibrational transitions in the vibrational spectrum cyclobutane is reviewed. Puckering sideband structure on 1453 cm-1 v 14 infra-red fundamental C4H8 has been observed and analysed, terms two slightly different puckering potential functions for ground excited states. results have fitted to quartic-quadratic coordinate, with a barrier inversion 503 (1·44 kcal mole-1 = 6·02 kJ mole-1) state 491 ν 1. For reasonable assumptions about reduced mass, equilibrium...

Abstract The question of whether or not cyber war amounts to per se is difficult determine given strategic theory's uncertain grasp the concepts force, violence and lethality. These three concepts, along with their relationships one another, are explored in order demonstrate that attacks can fact be construed as acts war. In the conventional pinch effect an ionized gas is enclosed by a conducting cylinder, and sufficiently large current passing through returning along inner wall of cylinder produces magnetic field which compresses into axial filament. A device described inverse effect. Here above replaced rod surrounded gas. When passes returns pushes plasma outward, leaving cylindrical vacuum region behind. The velocity thickness expanding front have been studied optically means probes. Except at highest...

Abstract We use 14 microsatellites to examine the genetic structure of a lion (Panthera leo L.) population in southern Tanzania. Heterozygosity levels were high (0.75 ± 0.08). Relatedness estimates showed that prides often had close relatives neighbouring prides, whereas few found not sharing border. The drop-off relatedness with distance was highly significant. Female pridemates exhibited higher mean (0.26 0.07) one another than did pride males (0.11 0.07). Mean among females significantly...

In July 2005, several scientists from the Mackenzie GEWEX (Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment) Study, known as MAGS, met with aboriginal people in Deline on shore of Great Bear Lake to exchange information climate water region. Topics discussed pertained directly northern environment, they included variability change, wind, lightning, lake ice, level, streamflow. The traditional knowledge shared by residents is a rich source local expertise about landscape systems area, while...

Abstract The Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission is the fourth of Solar Terrestrial Probe (STP) program National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). MMS was launched on March 12, 2015. consists four identically instrumented spin-stabilized observatories which are flown in formation to perform first definitive study magnetic reconnection space. presented with numerous technical challenges, including simultaneous construction launch identical large spacecraft 100 instruments...

In Scandinavia, suspected hybrids between the native mountain hare Lepus timidus and introduced brown L. europaeus have been observed by hunters since first introductions of hares in late 19th century. Several attempts to verify status these unsuccessful. Recently, however, transmission mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from was documented interpreted as a consequence hybridisation subsequent introgression. However, mtDNA markers alone will not allow identification first-generation because strictly...
