We report five ultra-low viscosity nematic liquid crystal mixtures with birefringence around 0.1, dielectric anisotropy in the range of 3 to 6, and clearing temperature about 80°C. A big advantage these low is activation energy, which significantly suppresses rising rate at temperatures. Using our mixture M3 as an example, response time a 3-μm cell −20°C only 30 ms. Widespread application materials for display devices demanding fast time, especially temperatures, foreseeable.

Compared to analog beamforming, digital beamforming offers better self-calibration and lower sidelobe performance, which has a profound impact on improving low Earth orbit receiver performance. The Digital Beamforming (DBF) module in the satellite broadcast signal reception terminal can use phase shifting compensate for differences caused by path spatial distance variations due inconsistent Radio Frequency (RF) channel delays. This compensation ensures in-phase summation, thereby achieving...

We report three liquid crystal (LC) mixtures with a wide nematic range (−40°C to ~100°C), small visco-elastic coefficient and low activation energy for vehicular displays. Physical properties at different temperatures were characterized. These LCs greatly improve the performance of display devices in car: 1) head-up projection using liquid-crystal-on-silicon an average gray-to-gray (GTG) response time less than 1 ms elevated temperature. 2) The GTG is maintained ~10 fringing field switching...

Ionic ZnFe2O4 is a weak magnetic ferrofluid with different particle sizes (a polydisperse ferrofluid), in which the dipolar coupling constant λ less than 2. By comparing reduced magnetization curves and initial susceptibilities of ferrofluids volume fractions ϕ, it found that there are field-induced attractive interactions between colloidal particles, make them aggregate; this interaction decreases ϕ. The so small aggregation cannot be induced by alone. Thus, can concluded from experimental...
