Ship design is a creative process serving defined objective. This normally an iterative with the being corrected and adjusted many times until it satisfies this taking place in broader business context consisting of stakeholders providing necessary resources information to enable realization vessel newbuilding project. Activities performed by different actors, such as customers, suppliers brokers, are organized integrated into ship firm. paper addresses discusses ways organizing...

Abstract In this paper, model‐based systems engineering (MBSE) and discrete event simulation (DES) are combined to assess the performance of an offshore production system at early stage. Various tools applied industrial case concerning retrieval deep‐sea minerals, a engine is developed calculate annual output. A mean 1 Million tonnes ore per year estimated for operation in Norwegian Sea using Monte Carlo simulation. Depending on limiting design wave height marine operations, output ranges...

The decay of 10 hyperfragments hydrogen, helium, and lithium is described. Only one event uniquely identified, as ${\mathrm{H}}^{4*}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\mathrm{He}}^{3}+n+{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$; it gives a binding energy the ${\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{0}$ particle $\mathrm{B}.\mathrm{E}.({\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{0})=1.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.7$ Mev. One represents in flight hydrogen hyperfragment. In case helium hyperfragment was ejected from star produced by negative...

This article studies the prospects for deep seabed mining as a future viable maritime industry, and discuss commercial, operational, technical viability of mining. By use business development approach originating from we analyse opportunities virtual project, identify aspects stakeholder performance expectations, contextualised by competitive positioning identification related project risks. We strategies pit-falls when venture within wider metal production value chain, case example in...

_ In this paper, vessels from the offshore oil and gas industry are explored in conceptual design of value-robust deep-sea mining vessel solutions. The responsive systems comparison method is applied a case addressing two hypothetical stakeholders: company operator. Their value propositions outlined pave ground for important attributes that consolidate into cost–benefit trade-offs various solutions technology choices discussed different future scenarios. results indicate complexity drives...

Designing new ships for purposes, in this case deep seabed mining, without using proper selected reference vessels, if available, is challenging. In paper, we show that the vessel features of a future mining have many similarities to offshore vessels deep-sea oil and gas industry can be used as such. We evaluate discuss technical, operational, commercial performance three possible design solutions developed based on such ship.

Abstract This paper presents the first steps towards conceptual design for underwater transportation of minerals from seabed to shore deep sea mining (DSM). The methodology is based on using a systematic approach. Abstraction was used identify fundamental entities problem, and function structure containing overall subfunctions established abstraction. Further, an extensive search working principles (WP) conducted in order find forms associated with functions. done by exploration solutions...
