Abstract. In the last decades, a global warming trend was observed. Along with temperature increase, modifications in humidity and wind regime amplify regional local impacts on livestock husbandry. Direct include occurrence of climatic stress conditions. Europe, cows are economically highly relevant mainly kept naturally ventilated buildings that most susceptible to climate change. The high-yielding particularly vulnerable heat stress. Modifications housing management main measures taken...

Abstract The main objective of this study was to identify the influences different climatic conditions and cow-related factors on respiration rate (RR) lactating dairy cows. Measurements were performed 84 Holstein Friesian cows (first eighth lactation) in Brandenburg, Germany. RR measured hourly or twice a day with up three randomly chosen measurement days per week between 0700 h 1500 (GMT + 0100 h) by counting right thoraco-abdominal movements Simultaneously measurements, cow body postures...

The digital technology transition fosters the flexibility of companies and their ability to respond quickly market changes. However, Small Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) seem be particularly challenged by transformation. Alkire-Foster (AF) method was employed analyze integration profiles in SMEs. Individual group average partial composite indicators were computed, as well measures integration, benchmark individual groups. Additionally, a linear regression used examine how overall scores are...

Technological progress enables individual cow's temperatures to be measured in real time, using a bolus sensor inserted into the rumen (reticulorumen). However, current cooling systems often work at constant schedule based on ambient temperature and not monitoring animal itself. This study hypothesized that tailoring management thermal reaction can mitigate heat stress. We propose dynamic system vivo sensors (boluses). Thus, activated as needed is thus most efficacious. A total of 30...

Molluscs collected in five localities the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) were digested and examined. The infected slugs identified as Phyllocaulis variegatus larvae found inoculated per os into mice. After 50 days, worms with caracteristics Angiostrongylus costaricensis recovered from mesenteric arterial system. results establish role P. intermediate host A. south Brazil, where many cases abdominal angiostrongyliasis have been diagnosed.

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects evaporative cooling at two different frequencies per day on respiration rate (RR) lactating dairy cows, considering cow-related factors. Twenty multiparous Israeli Holstein cows housed in a naturally ventilated cowshed were divided randomly into treatment groups. both groups exposed 3 or 8 sessions (3xcool vs. 8xcool, respectively). RR observed hourly, with maximum 12 measurements day. Body posture (standing lying) simultaneously...
