The Republic of Turkey has a population 67.4 million (year 2000) and covers 783 563 km 2 ; administratively it is divided into 81 provinces. <P> Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate whether a traumatic experience such as an earthquake has any effect on the probability suicide, especially in those who seem psychologically healthy. Prevention and support parameters are evaluated. </P><P>Method: Two groups thirty-five people each were compared regarding their committing suicide. One group had experienced other not.
