An investigation using the aroma extract dilution analysis (AEDA) technique of concentrate from a raw Japanese soy sauce and heated revealed 40 key compounds including 7 newly identified compounds. Among them, 5(or 2)-ethyl-4-hydroxy-2(or 5)-methyl-3(2H)-furanone 3-hydroxy-4,5-dimethyl-2(5H)-furanone exhibited highest flavor (FD) factor 2048, followed by 3-(methylthio)propanal, 4-ethyl-2-methoxyphenol, 4-hydroxy-2,5-dimethyl-3(2H)-furanone having FD factors 128 to 512 in sauce. Furthermore,...

Seagrass is a key primary producer in coastal ecosystems; however, most studies on seagrass-benthos interactions have focused subtidal zones. Some species such as Zostera japonica grow intertidal flats; their ecological functions remain unclear. Understanding whether seagrass beds contribute to benthic abundance and diversity can provide insights that facilitate tidal flat conservation. The present study clarifies the role of Z. food source for benthos. Field surveys were conducted an...

To evaluate control parameters for nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions in the swine wastewater treatment process, N2O emission was compared activated sludge from SBRs acclimated different carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratios. a denitrification phase very strongly dependent on C/N ratio of wastewater, and total operating condition BOD5/TN 2.6 approximately 270 times greater than that 4.5. However, effect amount nitrification not significant an oxic study. It is considered stabilization through optimal...

Wastewater reclamation and reuse have been practically applied to water-stressed regions, but waterborne pathogens remaining in insufficiently treated wastewater are of concern. Sanitation Safety Planning adopts the hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) approach manage human health risks upon exposure reclaimed wastewater. HACCP requires a predetermined reference value (critical limit: CL) at points (CCPs), which specific parameters monitored recorded real time. A disinfection...
