Abstract Egg white proteins (W) in combination with hypophosphorous acid (HA) were investigated for making flame retardant coating over cotton fabric adopting layer by (LbL) assembly technique. A novel phosphorous-nitrogen based non-inflammatory pathway was produced due to strong electrostatic interactions between egg protein and HA. BaFeO3 (BFO) and BaTiO3 (BTO) targets were used to deposit bi-layer (BL)/multilayer (ML) thin films on single crystal SrTiO3 (001) using pulsed laser deposition. X-Ray diffraction Reciprocal Space Maps confirmed the formation of BL/ML. Magnetization studies revealed that sandwiched BFO displayed weakest ferromagnetic interactions whereas bilayer with as top layer showed highest magnetization growth phase.
