Summary Retaining radioactive daughter products at a clinically relevant target site remains one of the major challenges in development vivo α generators with radionuclides such as 225 Ac and 223 Ra. In this work, we examine ability layered nanoparticle constructs to retain first decay daughter, 221 Fr. Actinium-225 is cocrystalized lanthanide phosphate consisting varying amounts La Gd. Additional layers improve retention capability while an outer layer gold facilitates attachment targeting...

Abstract A 60 year old woman originally presented with headache. Investigations revealed a pituitary tumour and endocrine investigations at that time showed normal plasma Cortisol levels. Seven years after removal of this tumour, the patient developed clinical biochemical features Cushing's disease. Immunoperoxidase staining original was positive for adrenocor‐ticotrophic hormone. This report suggests immunocytochemistry may have an important role in routine evaluation tumours.

Using heated antigens, antisera were prepared against the somatic antigens of 16 strains Serratia marcescens. By means cross-agglutination tests it was possible to divide into six groups. Groups II and VI each contained mutually adsorptive strains, which indicated that members within respective groups are closely related. No correlation observed serological activity pigment production among pigmented non-pigmented strains.

Summary Living organisms of certain strains Bacterium tularense were found to elicit a high degree immunity in white mice when inoculated sublethal concentrations. Killed vaccines gave markedly less protection proportion the amount antigen injected than was obtained with living vaccines. Strains low virulence multiplied following their inoculation into mice, but decreased progressively after fourth or fifth day until none could be demonstrated spleen, liver and heart blood on about 15th day....

Infection of white rats with Francisella tularensis (Pasteurella tularensis) and Salmonella typhimurium exposure to the endotoxin S. stimulated significant increases in various serum enzymes including aldolase, lactate dehydrogenase, phosphohexose isomerase, isocitrate glutamate-oxalacetate transaminase. The rates changes enzymatic activity after infection were directly related size infecting dose type infective agent employed. Tularemic excessive enzyme activity, whereas salmonellosis...

Mononuclear leucocytes harvested from the peritoneal cavities of rats recovered infection with Pasteurella tularensis, and those immunized a killed vaccine, conferred significant resistance against this organism when transferred to normal recipients. It was determined that minimum 3.7 × 10 7 leucocytes/rat required for protection only intact cells were effective in providing immunity. The immune response shown be specific tularemia, passive type, disappearing between 15 18 days following...
