Magnesium diboride (MgB2) single crystals, with a maximum size of 0.5×0.5×0.02 mm3, were grown by the vapor transport method in sealed molybdenum crucible. A superconducting transition onset temperature 38.6 K was confirmed both and magnetization measurements. The upper critical field anisotropy ratio, Hc2∥ab(0)/Hc2∥c(0), estimated to be 2.6 from magnetic field-temperature phase diagram for MgB2 crystals.

The purpose of the paper is to explain linear birefringence and dichroism observed in magnetic fluids when subjected a field. Linear aggregates nanosize near spherical particles, which are considered be responsible for these phenomena, have been analyzed terms classical oscillating dipole model where each particle treated as simple under action electric field light beam. analysis produced number particles aggregate both slightly nonspherical particles. Optical anisotropy factors expressions...

Bi ( Fe 0.95 Co 0.05 ) O 3 bulk ceramics were prepared by rapid sintering using sol-gel derived fine powders. Bi(Fe0.95Co0.05)O3 crystallized in a rhombohedrally distorted BiFeO3 structure with compressive lattice distortion induced the substitution at sites from Raman study. Compared under similar conditions, magnetic properties significantly enhanced, saturate magnetization of 1.6 emu/g and remnant 0.7 300 K. Clear metamagnetism was observed Bi(Fe0.95Co0.05)O3.

Ultrafine nickel particles have intriguing physical and chemical properties, which are interesting both in fundamental applied research. The size of the particle was controlled by gas pressure. X-ray diffraction studies showed that fine Ni fcc crystal structure coated with thin oxide on surface. Electron micrographs a spherical shape, forming long chain. Size dependence magnetic properties were studied. specific moment drastically decreases when reducing diameter d <15 nm. coercivity...

Polycrystalline Lu-doped YFeO3 samples with perovskite structure were synthesized by solid-state reaction. Powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive analysis manifest the high quality of samples. Room temperature 57Fe Mössbauer spectra indicate that only Fe3+ exists in samples, which excludes formation multiple valence Fe. The large effective magnetic moments obtained from dependence magnetization data can be explained terms ferromagnetic clusters....

A novel magnetic hierarchical nanocomposite based on ZnO nanowire/Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticle has been successfully synthesized by multistep chemical methods without calcinations. The cores of Fe3O4 act as the center for growth nanowires. As a result, zinc oxide nanowires grown around form chestnut-like hybrid structure. length these was controlled time. When used in photodegradation rhodamine B (RhB), ZnO–Fe3O4@SiO2 nanocomposites show high photocatalytic activity. large surface areas and...

An otherwise dark magnetic dipole resonance in a split-ring resonator can be excited electrically with Fano-type profile once the symmetric environment for this is broken respect to polarized electric-field direction of incident waves. When asymmetrically induced narrow coincides broad dipolar at an identical frequency regime, metamaterial analogue electromagnetically-induced transparency (EIT) window formed. We demonstrate that environmental-asymmetry condition introduced dielectrically as...
