The article describes the application of muon tomography to detection unexpected density variations within civil infrastructure. Results from a scan disused railway tunnel in United Kingdom with known features, namely three open shafts, are presented. shafts identified high statistical significance and further hidden voided shaft is located.

A set of comparisons among neutrino interaction experiments (MiniBooNE, MINERvA, T2K, and MicroBooNE) is presented. This gives a broad view the field neutrino-nucleus interactions. The emphasis on charged current inclusive, quasielastic-like, pion production experiments. Measurements are compared in new ways. Comparisons recent data with available event generator codes made more comprehensively than regularly found most previous publications. Generator studies show sensitivities for...

The use of muon scattering tomography for the non-invasive characterisation nuclear waste is well established. We report here on application a combination feature discriminators and multivariate analysis techniques to locate identify materials in drums. After successful training optimisation algorithms they are then tested range material configurations assess system's performance limitations. system able correctly uranium, iron lead objects ~few \text{cm} scale. sensitivity small uranium...

High quality nuclear data lie at the heart of accurately modelling stellar systems and terrestrial reactors. However, some key reaction cross sections have large uncertainties, which limit such models in predicting isotopic abundances other aspects evolution, along with operational parameters for Reactions involving neutrons are particularly difficult to measure experimentally laboratories, not least due unique challenges involved when detecting neutrons. We present a new approach measuring...

Enhancements in acquisition and processing software allow many people to collect acoustic televiewer data with minimal training. However, these tools are extremely sophisticated flexible it is easy generate significant error. These errors can occur from misunderstanding image orientation scheme requirements; use of magnetic centralizers or housing; a environment; correct tool sample decisions logging too fast. They also sensor failure. The most common issues quality centralization borehole...

The modern slimhole digital acoustic televiewer has been applied for the last 20+ years a variety of applications from ground water to rock mass evaluation casing inspection. After an extended period limit application, technology is now widely accepted and hundreds tools are in market place routinely being by service in‐house groups around world. During this time, number lessons have learned observations noted. Understanding learning these details critical insuring highest quality correct...

<p>Soil moisture is an important component of the water balance despite accounting for a small volume relative to other hydrological cycle components. With continuing evolution land surface and global models, characterizing soil dynamics at sub-kilometer scales becoming ever important. To help with that, cosmic-ray neutron sensing established technology that provides estimates root-zone 200-300m radius. In simple terms, sensors can estimate root zone through indirect...

The merger of MFS, WorldCom and UUNET created the world's first integrated provider telecoms Internet services to business customer. Each company had a commonality several elements: (1) focus on customer; (2) each major player in Europe; (3) strong entrepreneurial management teams; (4) customer service. international strategy is be facilities based, providing end-to-end managed community, with broadband requirements.
