This article deals with the influence of cutting edge preparation and radius on tool life, forces roughness machined surface. The was done inserts wiper geometry which are used during machining dividing plane at a steam turbine casing. were prepared by technology grinding, drag finishing laser technology. for finished tools 5, 10 15 μm treated 5 μm. workpiece material ferrite – martensite steel content 9%Mo 1%Cr submicron sintered carbide. There only one insert in milling cutter.

The article is focused on the influence of cutting edge form factor, which usually marked as K, tool life and roughness machined surface during finishing milling.
