Land consolidation is a strategic instrument for rural planning and thus economic development in the Spanish region of Galicia. This paper describes an experimental system embedded GIS environment to aid engineers develop land plans. The supports all stages plan many functionalities are implemented as heuristic processes based on expert knowledge advice. overall aim overcome administrative technical problems traditional procedures. provides integrated framework management spatial...

Abstract Land consolidation is an essential tool for public administrations to reduce the fragmentation of land ownership. In particular, parcel exchange shows promising potential restructuring holdings, even more when number parcels and owners involved large. Unfortunately, possible combinations grows very quickly with participating landowners parcels, associated challenge finding acceptable solution. this paper, we present a high-performance solution based on genetic algorithms. Our...

COPA (which means "COncentración PArcelaria", the Spanish term of "land consolidation") is an experimental tool integrated into a GIS environment to aid rural engineers develop land consolidation projects. The system supports several tasks implemented as heuristic processes based on experts' experiences. includes automated generation nearly optimal parcel reallocations and refine evaluate proposed solutions. It also provides framework manage spatial administrative information that can be...

Rural settlements (RS) are a reality of rural areas. They consist cluster buildings and ways life mainly associated with activities related to agriculture. As economic policies applied in development have evolved, the physical delimitation areas has become more important because such recipients financial support, which depends on an area’s characteristics. Thus, it is necessary formulate new spatial approach for RS delimitation. The objective this study define criteria identification...

In this work, the application of genetic algorithms to elaboration land use plans is studied. These follow national legal rules and experts' considerations. Two optimization criteria are applied: aptitude compactness. As number affected plots can be large and, consequently, execution time algorithm potentially high, work focused on implementation analysis different parallel paradigms: multi-core parallelism, cluster parallelism combination both.
