The hydrogeochemical study of surface water in Pratapgarh district has been carried out to assess the major ion chemistry and quality for drinking domestic purposes. For this purpose, twenty-five samples were collected from river, ponds canals analysed pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), turbidity, hardness, cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ K+), anions (HCO3 −, F−, Cl−, NO3 SO4 2−) silica concentration. analytical results show mildly acidic alkaline nature resources district....
Probabilistic health risk assessment was conducted for metal exposure through groundwater in mining areas of Singhbhum Copper Belt, India. The concentrations metals showed notable spatial variation exceeding drinking water standards at some the locations. Hazard Quotient revealed that chronic risks to local population were largely contributed by Mn, Co and As. 95th percentiles Index (HI) calculated using Monte Carlo simulations HI male, female child populations 2.87, 2.54 4.57 pre-monsoon,...
Abstract An analytical study of major cations and anions the glacier fed Alaknanda River its tributaries has been carried out to assess weathering geochemical processes in high altitude river basin. The were sampled during pre-monsoon (June 1992) post-monsoon (October season for present hydrogeochemical study. Calcium magnesium are cations, accounting 85% total cations. Among anions, bicarbonate is most dominant (78%) with minor contribution from sulphate (19%) chloride (3%). average...
