Podoplanin (PDP) is a mucin - type of transmembrane protein expressed in numerous tissues during ontogeny and adult animals, including the brain, heart, kidney, osteoblasts lymphoid organs. The aim this study was to determine podoplanin concentration blood serum urine patients with bladder cancer. Quantifying its correlation various clinicopathological parameters may be useful for more accurate predictions identifying high-risk patients. The present included 82 cancer confirmed by...
Context. The available set of spin and shape modelled asteroids is strongly biased against slowly rotating targets those with low lightcurve amplitudes. This due to the observing selection effects. As a consequence, current picture asteroid axis distribution, rotation rates, radiometric properties, or aspects related object’s internal structure might be affected too. Aims. To counteract these effects, we are running photometric campaign large sample main belt omitted in most previous...
Context. Earlier work suggests that slowly rotating asteroids should have higher thermal inertias than faster rotators because the heat wave penetrates deeper into sub-surface. However, been determined mainly for fast due to selection effects in available photometry used obtain shape models required thermophysical modelling (TPM). Aims. Our aims are mitigate these by producing of slow rotators, scale them and compute their inertia with TPM, verify whether increases rotation period. Methods....
Two conjugation methods using different linkers were applied for the investigation of spectral characteristics and activity G-quadruplex (G4)⁻hemin conjugates. For this purpose, two G-quadruplex-forming DNA sequences selected, then conjugated to a hemin molecule via either amine coupling or click reaction. The products obtained these differed in their chemistry length linker between molecules. Spectral revealed that both produced conjugates more thermally stable than G4/hemin complexes....
Results from the TESS mission showed that previous studies strngly underestimated number of slow rotators, revealing importance studying those asteroids. For most slowly rotating asteroids (P > 12), no spin and shape model is available because observation selection effects. This hampers determination their thermal parameters accurate sizes. We continue our campaign in minimising effects among main belt Our targets are rotators with low light-curve amplitudes. The goal to provide scaled...
Context. Thanks to the Gaia mission, it will be possible determine masses of approximately hundreds large main belt asteroids with very good precision. We currently have diameter estimates for all them that can used compute their volume and hence density. However, some those diameters are still based on simple thermal models, which occasionally lead uncertainties as high 20–30%. Aims. The aim this paper is 3D shape models volumes 13 were selected from targets provide mass an accuracy better...
Bioluminescent high-throughput screening (HTS) assays, based largely on the activity of firefly (FLuc), Renilla (RLuc), and/or NanoLuc (NLuc) luciferases, are widely utilised in research and drug discovery. In this study, we quantify luciferase-based real-life HTS assay interference from biologically environmentally relevant metal ions ubiquitously present buffers, environmental biological matrices, as contaminants plastics compound libraries. We also provide insights into cross-effects...
Abstract 2’-OMe-RNA analogues and LNA point modifications of DNA oligonucleotides were applied for the modulation G-quadruplex topology enhancement peroxidase activity resulting DNAzymes. The effect analogue was studied full length modified with various sequences. In case LNA-point modification, we have chosen a telomeric sequence investigated numbers modifications. Our main goal to prove that application these can influence DNAzyme, especially those, which normally form poor As an example,...
Here, we report the synthesis of a quantum dot (QD)-DNA covalent conjugate to be used as an H2O2-free DNAzyme system with oxidase activity. Amino-coupling conjugation was carried out between amino-modified oligonucleotides (CatG4-NH2) and carboxylated dots (CdTe@COOH QDs). The obtained products were characterized by spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, fluorescence, circular dichroizm (CD), IR) transmission electron microscopy (TEM) technique. A QD-DNA low polydispersity high stability in aqueous...
In this work we investigated the effect of a DNA oligonucleotide sequence on activity DNAzyme with covalently attached hemin. For purpose, synthesized seven DNA-hemin conjugates. All conjugates as well DNA/hemin complexes were characterized using circular dichroism, determination melting temperatures and pKa We observed that hemin conjugation in most cases led to formation parallel G-quadruplexes presence potassium increased thermal stability all studied systems. Although depended used,...
