Twisted bilayer graphene (TBLG) is one of the simplest van der Waals heterostructures, yet it yields a complex electronic system with intricate interplay between moiré physics and interlayer hybridization effects. We report on transport measurements high mobility small angle TBLG devices showing clear evidence for insulating states at superlattice band edges, thermal activation gaps several times larger than theoretically predicted. Moreover, Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations tight binding...
We measure the longitudinal (${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\rho}}}_{\mathit{x}\mathit{x}}$) and Hall (${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\rho}}}_{\mathit{x}\mathit{y}}$) resistivities as a function of magnetic field temperature in mixed state epitaxial ${\mathrm{YBa}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Ca}}_{3}$${\mathrm{O}}_{7}$ films. observe striking power-law behavior...
Superconductivity was recently found in the tetragonal phase FeSe. A structural transformation from to orthorhombic (or monoclinic, depending on point of view) observed at low temperature, but not accompanied by a magnetic ordering as commonly occurs parent compounds FeAs-based superconductors. Here, we report correlation between distortion and superconductivity ${\mathrm{FeSe}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}$ thin films with different preferred growth orientations. The along $c$ axis show strong...
Crystals of FeSe0.88 and FeSeMn0.1 have been grown from KCl solutions. measuring 2−3 mm across 0.1−0.3 thick grow with a hexagonal plate like habit. Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements show strong peaks corresponding to the tetragonal α-FeSe phase weak β-FeSe in both cases. The side crystal is identified be (101) face α-FeSe. Energy dispersive spectroscopic (EDS) that Mn substitutes for Fe. Both types crystals superconducting transition at 8 K DC magnetization broad resistive zero...
We utilize steady-state and transient optical spectroscopies to examine the responses of nonthermal quasiparticles with respect orbital modifications in normal-state iron-chalcogenide superconductors. The dynamics shows emergence gaplike (associated a $\ensuremath{\sim}36\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{meV}$ energy gap) coincident transfer spectral weight visible range, at temperatures above structural distortion. Our observations suggest that opening high-temperature gap lattice symmetry breaking...
We developed cProSite, a website that provides online genomics, proteomics, and phosphoproteomics analysis for the data of The National Cancer Institute's Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC). This tool focuses on comparisons correlations between different proteins mRNAs tumors normal tissues. Our is designed with biologists clinicians in mind, user-friendly environment fast search engine. results cProSite can be used clinical validation provide useful strategic information...
Proprioception is critical to motor control and functional status but has received limited study early after stroke. Patients admitted an inpatient rehabilitation facility for stroke (n = 18, mean(±SD) 12.5 ± 6.6 days from stroke) older healthy controls 19) completed the Wrist Position Sense Test (WPST), a validated, quantitative measure of wrist proprioception, as well cognitive testing. were serially tested when available 12, mean 11 between assessments). In controls, WPST error was 9.7...
We report the development and results of a two-step method for sorting cells small particles in microfluidic device. This approach uses single channel that has (1) microfabricated sieve which efficiently focuses into thin stream, followed by (2) dielectrophoresis (DEP) section consisting electrodes along walls efficient continuous based on dielectric properties particles. For our demonstration, device was constructed polydimethylsiloxane, bonded to glass surface, conductive agarose gel...
We examine the sign reversal of vortex Hall effect in MoGe/Ge superconductor-insulator multilayers. To specifically relevance thermally generated Josephson vortices between layers, we compare our results with single-layer two-dimensional superconducting MoGe films. While extent regime does depend upon interlayer coupling, conclude that are not dominant contribution to for Our differ from recent suggestions Y-Ba-Cu-O single crystals.
We report the fabrication of heterojunctions formed by FeSe0.5Te0.5 (FeSeTe) superconductor and Nb-doped SrTiO3 semiconducting substrate their properties. At high temperature when FeSeTe is in its normal state, forward bias I−V curves behave like a metal-semiconductor junction with low Schottky barrier. Direct tunneling through thin depletion layer dominates reverse curves. When film becomes superconducting at temperature, we observed that barrier height increased but was suppressed an...
We report the vortex dynamics of tellurium substituted FeSe1 − xTex superconducting thin films. The electric field versus current density (E–J) curve for films with low Te substitution is still governed by thermally activated flux flow model at temperatures as 0.5TCoffset. In contrast, we clearly observed a liquid–glass transition in high substitution. E–J curves these samples fit nicely to scaling relations based on 3D glass theory. Our results reveal an enhancement pinning more content...

We have grown highly crystalline beta-FeSe type iron chalcogenide nanowires (NWs) by annealing thin film that is prepared a pulsed laser deposition method. Three kinds of NWs with compositions Fe0.8Se, Fe0.88Se0.32Te0.68 and Fe0.88Te0.91S0.09 been carefully characterized high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). The reveal ideal tetragonal structure crystal growth along the [100] direction. Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) studies HRTEM images show to good compositional...

Abstract An overview of the recent development superconducting FeSe 1− x and related compounds is presented. Methods to synthesize high purity poly‐crystalline samples, single crystals, thin films with preferred orientation are described. It was found that effects chemical doping Se‐site or Fe‐site rather different. Ionic size play critical role on occurrence superconductivity. We also review physical properties, including transport, magnetic, thermal properties. There exist interesting...
