Twisted bilayer graphene (TBLG) is one of the simplest van der Waals heterostructures, yet it yields a complex electronic system with intricate interplay between moiré physics and interlayer hybridization effects. We report on transport measurements high mobility small angle TBLG devices showing clear evidence for insulating states at superlattice band edges, thermal activation gaps several times larger than theoretically predicted. Moreover, Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations tight binding...

We utilize steady-state and transient optical spectroscopies to examine the responses of nonthermal quasiparticles with respect orbital modifications in normal-state iron-chalcogenide superconductors. At high temperature when FeSeTe is in its normal state, forward bias I−V curves behave like a metal-semiconductor junction with low Schottky barrier. Direct tunneling through thin depletion layer dominates reverse curves. When film becomes superconducting at temperature, we observed that barrier height increased but was suppressed an...

We report the vortex dynamics of tellurium substituted FeSe1 − xTex superconducting thin films. The electric field versus current density (E–J) curve for films with low Te substitution is still governed by thermally activated flux flow model at temperatures as 0.5TCoffset. In contrast, we clearly observed a liquid–glass transition in high substitution. E–J curves these samples fit nicely to scaling relations based on 3D glass theory.
