We present PATICE, a GIS database of Patagonian glacial geomorphology and recalibrated chronological data. PATICE includes 58,823 landforms 1,669 geochronological ages, extends from 38°S to 55°S in southern South America. use these data generate new empirical reconstructions the Ice Sheet (PIS) subsequent ice masses ice-dammed palaeolakes at 35 ka, 30 25 20 15 13 ka (synchronous with Antarctic Cold Reversal), 10 5 0.2 2011 AD. At PIS covered 492.6 x103 km2, had sea level equivalent ~1,496...
ABSTRACT Recent marginal retreat of Mulajokull, a surge-type outlet glacier Hofsjokull, Iceland, has revealed drumlin fi eld consisting more than 50 drumlins. The drumlins are 90–320 m long, 30–105 wide, 5–10 in relief, and composed multiple beds till deposited by lodgment bed deformation. youngest layer truncates the older units with an erosion surface that parallels form. Thus, built up formed combination subglacial depositional erosional processes. Field evidence suggests each to be...
Abstract The internal architecture and structural evolution of the Arnarfellsmúlar terminal moraine at Múlajökull, a surge‐type glacier in central Iceland, is described order to demonstrate submarginal proglacial glaciotectonic processes during surging, as well constraining age maximum extent glacier. 4–7 m high, 50–100 wide, composed highly deformed sequence loess, peat, tephra that draped by till up crest. dominated steep, high‐amplitude overturned folds thrusts crest zone but open,...
We present the first extensive high-resolution glacial geomorphic map west of Andean Cordillera in southernmost Chile (52.8–53.1°S, 73.0–73.9°W). The extends over 1565 km2 and is based on satellite images aerial photographs. At selected locations, remotely mapped geomorphology was corroborated by field observations. study area dominated erosional landforms (77%) depositional (23%), with published submarine having been included (e.g. moraines). Glacial drift, kettle kame topography lateral...

The glacial history of Patagonia has been built from paleoclimate records found at the margin former Patagonian Ice-sheet. However, current deglaciation models still have spatio-temporal gaps to be filled. In this direction, study submerged paleo-climate Fjord system and pro-glacial lakes could fill these enhance our knowledge on in Patagonia. exploration such remote areas is hindered by logistic challenges rough weather conditions.

In...

The geochronological and geomorphological reconstruction of glacier fluctuations is required to assess the timing structure climate changes last glacial cycle in subtropical Andes Chile. The scarcity data this region limits knowledge related landscape during long-term period. To provide a new framework better understand history semiarid Chile, we have reconstructed Universidad (34° S).

Our mapping shows existence four moraine...
