Abstract Background Rhabdomyolysis is a syndrome caused by the death of muscle tissue, which leads to release protein myoglobin into circulation. The severity rhabdomyolysis varies widely from asymptomatic life threatening, and has many possible causes, including specific classification associated with medications. Excessive television (TV) viewing by children can lead to negative health and developmental outcomes. Using structural equation modeling, this study tests a conceptual model understand social familial factors associated with TV exposure among sample of 767 Head Start families between the ages 3 5 years. Fit statistics suggested that overall provided an acceptable fit observed data. Specifically, significant paths suggest parents’ support affects child exposure. Additionally, lower levels...
A 57-year-old white man presented with acute abdominal pain and rash without any prodromal symptoms. The skin biopsy confirmed immunoglobulin (IgA) vasculitis small vessel perivascular IgA, C3, fibrin deposition. IgA is diagnosed most commonly in children presents adults only 10% of cases. Treatment usually supportive care, interventions may be required to avoid complications such as nephrotic syndrome or gastrointestinal bleeding. Clinicians should aware a potential cause for adult populations.
Drug-induced haemolytic anaemia (DIHA) is a rare condition that has been associated with multitude of medications. Although few cephalosporins have commonly implicated in DIHA, cephalexin reported only cases. We report case 44-year-old woman who developed after 5 days therapy cephalexin.Although DIHA rare, it should not be overlooked the differential diagnosis. This adds to limited number reports cephalexin-induced anaemia.
