Syn- and anti-isomers of an adamantylideneadamantane 1,2-dioxetane having a phthalimide side chain were prepared investigated their crystalline-state chemiluminescence (CL) properties. The isomers showed contrastive CL properties depending on crystal-structural characteristics, indicating that provides attractive target for real-time monitoring chemical reaction in the crystal.
Abstract Adamantylideneadamantane 1,2-dioxetane (Adox), one of the most stable 1,2-dioxetanes, was used to investigate kinetic properties its chemiluminescent thermolytic reaction in crystalline state by monitoring chemiluminescence (CL) real time. Soon after heating single crystals at 140 °C, it found that reactions Adox proceeded with zero-order kinetics for several minutes. During period showing kinetics, CL intensities were dependent on volumes crystals, and inside maintained a thermal...
Abstract Heating crystal samples of 9,10-diphenylanthracene endoperoxide (1) and its deuterated derivative (1-d10) to 200 °C led singlet-oxygen chemiluminescence (CL) from the mixtures crystalline molten states. To understand events in heated samples, reactions 1 1-d10 crystals were investigated by powder X-ray diffraction measurements thermal analyses. The used obtained a mixture ethyl acetate (EA) n-hexane contained EA. Other slow recrystallization with same solvents had solvent-free...
Crystalline-state chemiluminescence (CL) reactions of 1,2-dioxetane isomers with two fluorophore side chains showed isomeric differences in CL properties and reaction behavior, reflecting solid-to-solid phase transitions.
The chemiluminescence (CL) feature and reactivity of the aromatic endoperoxide 9-phenyl-10-(2-phenylethynyl)anthracene (PPEA-O2) were investigated in crystalline state. For this, PPEA-O2 crystals prepared using dichloromethane n-hexane. These exhibited an α-phase structure containing n-hexane as a crystal solvent. nonperoxidic anthracene (i.e., PPEA) was also confirmed. After optimizing heating conditions to 120 °C for thermolytic reaction while maintaining solid state, its CL characteristic...
Thermolytic reactions of 9,10-diphenylanthracene endoperoxide (1) and its derivatives having deuterated phenyl groups with fluorinated substituents were investigated as chemiluminescence (CL) proceeding by heating crystal samples. While heated crystals 1 showed negligible CL, CL emissions from singlet oxygen (1O2) generated thermolyses the observable in solid-liquid mixture states, indicating that modifications for effective to suppress 1O2 deactivation. By samples over 150 °C, we could...
It has been found that a fluorophore-linked adamantylideneadamantane 1,2-dioxetane derivative showed an isomeric difference in the reactivities of crystalline-state chemiluminescence (CL) under isothermal heating conditions, while there are still unsolved problems on conditions for intracrystalline reactions. To confirm suitable initiating CL reactions isomers, their crystal samples heated at elevated temperature were investigated with monitoring light emission and...
