Central to understanding the photochemical function(s) of melanosomes is determination their absorption properties and an how varies with molecular composition melanin. Herein, coefficients for containing predominantly eumelanin, a polymeric pigment derived from precursors 5,6-dihydroxyindole (DHI) 5,6-dihydroxyindole-2-carboxylic acid (DHICA), are reported λ = 244 nm. The coefficient DHICA/DHI ratio, determined chemical degradation analyses. With increasing DHICA content, melanosome...

Sporotrichosis is a subacute-to-chronic infection caused by Sporothrix species, dimorphic fungus. Virulence varies species and presentation can be region dependent. The patient had history of immunosuppression as result kidney transplant, presented with high disease burden on histopathological examination, but responded well to itraconazole. case suggests considering speciation in immunocompromised patients best determine treatment modality duration.

Abstract Though the immune system plays a crucial role in skin cancer development, associations between immune-related diseases and have not been well studied racial ethnic minorities. The goal of this cross-sectional study was to assess relationship various basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous (SCC), cutaneous malignant melanoma (MM) diagnoses within diverse “All Us” Research Program cohort. It included 307,451 adult participants with electronic health record (EHR) data enrolled from...

Introduction: Cutaneous pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is an ulcerating autoinflammatory neutrophilic dermatosis often associated with inflammatory bowel disease, hematologic diseases, or arthritis. PG secondary to systemic medications less commonly reported. a diagnosis of exclusion that requires investigation other causes cutaneous ulcers prior final diagnosis. Case presentation: We herein describe case cocaine-induced atypical features (recurrent ulcerations limited the lower extremities and...
