Sporotrichosis is a subacute-to-chronic infection caused by Sporothrix species, dimorphic fungus. Virulence varies species and presentation can be region dependent. The patient had history of immunosuppression as result kidney transplant, presented with high disease burden on histopathological examination, but responded well to itraconazole. case suggests considering speciation in immunocompromised patients best determine treatment modality duration.
