Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination has posed a significant environmental public health challenge due to their ubiquitous nature. Adsorption emerged as promising remediation technique, yet optimizing adsorption efficiency remains complex the diverse physicochemical properties of PFAS wide range adsorbent materials. Traditional modeling approaches, such response surface methodology (RSM), struggled capture nonlinear interactions, while standalone machine learning (ML)...

A 6-carbon short-chain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS), GenX, also known as hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid (HFPO-DA) its ammonium salt, has been manufactured in recent years a replacement for perfluorooctanoic (PFOA), traditional long-chain PFAS, due to the increasing environmental regulation of PFAS compounds years. GenX received significant attention because fact that it is more toxic than people originally thought, now one six are placed under legally enforceable...

Abstract Partial nitritation (PN) is a novel treatment for nitrogen removal using aerobic ammonium oxidation with reduced oxygen requirements compared to conventional nitrification. This study evaluated the performance of PN process and factors influencing from landfill leachate. During reactivation biomass, results showed 70% removal, but only 20% total removal. Further analysis that low nitrite accumulation high nitrate production promoted growth nitrite‐oxidizing bacteria (NOB). The...

The distribution coefficient (Kd) measures the ratio of concentration adsorbed on solid surfaces to that in liquid phase, crucial for understanding Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) mobility. Despite its importance, machine learning hasn't been fully utilized predict precise Kd values PFAS different materials, which could streamline experimental work. A model Log compounds can help reduce time cost-intensive work needed. This study introduces a computational log various surfaces,...

Zirconium Nitride coatings was developed by magnetron sputtering in the environment of argon as inert gas and nitrogen reactive gas. In this work study effect power working pressure on various properties like structural, optical wettability zirconium nitride are reported. X-Ray diffraction used to structural coating which showed (321) peak Zr3N4 consistent with all samples prepared. Surface morphology studied using SEM that deposited had columnar structure. Optical UV-Vis-NIR...

Per and Poly-fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) has been a major subject of research in environmental sector ever since it was found the environment blood serums at toxic levels. As landfills are final disposal method for majority waste, PFAS concentration landfill leachate have range few µg/L to mg/L. Only conventional treatments such as Activated Carbon, Reverse Osmosis, Ion-Exchange proven effective removing PFAS. However, these treatment methods proving be very expensive generate secondary...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects CEPT for leachate and sewage co-treatment in a POTW. results showed that ferric aluminum coagulants remove about 54 - 74% organic matter where performed better than coagulant. However, coagulant found exacerbate UV absorbance after coagulation at high dose due interaction with dissolved by forming soluble transition metal complexes. These organo-metal complexes have been increase provides scientific background such phenomenon.
