Plastic hinges are the deformation mechanism of thin-walled tubes under bending loads. The aim this work is to study influence three ratios between dimension parameters tube's section: width-to-height, height-to-thickness and width-to-thickness, on mechanism. Bending tests a parametric by numerical simulations then carried out, using Digital Image Correlation technique (D.I.C), validate F.E.M model. results show two different mechanisms: higher values (thin-walled shapes), lead plastic as...

This work uses the strip yield model implemented in NASGRO software to estimate fatigue life under random loading. Simulated results were compared with experimental data previously obtained by authors using different loading processes Al2024-T351. Test constant amplitude from have been considered order characterize material behaviour and fit parameters. The two considered. ratio of simulated lives was between 0.71 1.52 considering all options 0.87 1.12 best option.

Analysis of the fatigue life a semitrailer structure necessitates identification loads and dynamic solicitations in structure. These forces can be introduced computer simulation software (multibody + finite element) for analysing response different design solutions to them. numerical models must validated some parameters need measured directly field test with real vehicles under various driving conditions. In this study, low-cost monitoring system is developed application fleet semitrailers....

Freight transport by road currently is one of the most important mean transportation in worldwide logistics sector, due to a number advantages compared other means operating within same sector. This largely developed through use semi-trailers. In recent years there has been tendency optimize weight semi-trailers order lighten them and reduce fuel consumption emissions. Of course, this optimization be done without compromising vehicle safety. regard, special interest requires analysis fatigue...

The risk to the bus and coach driver is considerably greater than that passenger in specific types of accident. Moreover, protection critical maintaining control vehicle speeding up evacuation passengers. It would, therefore, be desirable for driver's workplace present at least same degree passive safety as passenger. This paper presents research carried out by INSIA-UPM related improvement safety. Starting from accident analysis, necessity improving drivers analysed. main parameters affect...
