Clonic seizures are currently defined as repetitive and rhythmic myoclonic contractions of a specific body part, producing twitching movements at frequency 0.2–5 Hz. There few studies in the literature that have reported detailed analysis semiology, neurophysiology, lateralizing value clonic seizures. In this article, we aim to report our findings from retrospective review 39 patients.
Abstract Topological data analysis (TDA) is a powerful approach for investigating complex relationships in brain networks; however, its application requires substantial domain knowledge programming, mathematics, and science, especially the context of data-driven approaches like machine learning (ML). To address this educational barrier, we introduce MaTiLDA, graphical user interface that enables exploration common representations TDA features their efficacy various classical models. This...
The rapid adoption of machine learning (ML) algorithms in a wide range biomedical applications has highlighted issues trust and the lack understanding regarding results generated by ML algorithms. Recent studies have focused on developing interpretable models establish guidelines for transparency ethical use, ensuring responsible integration healthcare. In this study, we demonstrate effectiveness interpretability methods to provide important insights into dynamics brain network interactions...
Two types of lid movements, blinks and saccades, have discrete kinematic properties physiology. These differences are reflected in distinct phenomenology disorders affecting their neural substrate. Proof this principle was seen two patients, one with parietal lobe epilepsy the other temporal epilepsy. The movements patient were rhythmic, yoked, had a rapid upward component that instantaneously followed slow downward drift. cyclic strikingly resembled nystagmus, but unlike typical eye...
OBJECTIVE: Generalized tonic-clonic seizures (GTCS) are the commonest seizure type associated with Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). This study examines semiological and electroencephalographic differences GTCS of adults as compared to children who have ten fold lower SUDEP risk. METHODS: We analyzed video-EEG data 105 61 consecutive patients (12 23 seizures; 49 82 seizures). Semiological, EEG EKG were studied. Peri-ictal phases durations including tonic, clonic, total seizure,...
