A new topology in PLL architecture dual-mode KVCO (DMK) to reduce in-band noise and reference spurs is presented. A power‐efficient complementary voltage‐to‐time converter (CVTC) is proposed for a flash ADCs. The alternating reset direction according to the signal development reduces power consumed by operation and operational frequency of CVTC effectively reduced half. A simple-but-efficient calibration-spur reduction technique is introduced that utilises the digital-and-analogue hybrid return-to-zero (HRZ) method in a current-steering DAC employing round-robin-fashioned background current-source calibration scheme. simulation with 12 b 500 MS/s showed 9.9 and 7.8 dB improvements spur-free dynamic range signal-to-noise + distortion ratio, respectively, owing to reduced spur by proposed HRZ technique.
