Porous N-carbon/silica nanofibers (PN-CSN) were successfully made by solution blow spinning (SBS), polymer solutions containing polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), and ethanol. The fibers samples carbonized at 550 °C in a static air atmosphere. PN-CSN characterized using scanning electron microscopy, N2 adsorption/desorption, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis zeta potential. adsorption capacity was determined dye (methylene blue, MB). had small average...
Abstract This work shows the successful production of alumina nanofibers after thermal treatment solution blow spun hybrid fibers. These were converted into γ-Al2O3 and α-Al2O3 in air between 500 to 1200 °C. The X-ray diffraction patterns presented all characteristics γ α phases alumina. In addition, scanning electron micrographs showed nanofiber diameters varying 200 270 nm for different temperatures. results demonstrated that blowing spinning method is efficient produce nanofibers.
The clay types, kaolinite and smectite, are the most used industrially, mainly due to its sorption characteristics. There have been several attempts improve quality characteristics of clays, modifying them with different techniques. Two common techniques thermal activation acid activation. For activation, hydrochloric was a reaction time 1 hour while samples calcined at 300oC for 24 hours. This work aims characterize gray (supplied by Süd-Chemie LTDA) Brasgel (provided Bentonit), both in...
This study examines the inclusion of a quaternary ammonium salt, an alkyl-dimethyl-benzyl chloride (Dodigen), on green clay to evaluate its performance as organophilic adsorbent in oil/water separation process. The samples were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction, Differential Thermal and Thermogravimetric Analyses, Infrared Spectroscopy, Cation Exchange Capacity, Adsorption Capacity Foster Swelling test. The results indicated that salts intercalated between layers clay.A 2 -factorial design...
This study aims to characterize and evaluate the use of adsorbent (organoclay) in process separation oil water emulsion. One goal this work is prepare untreated sodium clay (BSN-03) from Argentina treated BSN-03. The method used organoclay replaces cations (Na+) interlayer by a quaternary ammonia cation. Tests X-ray diffraction observe obtaining organoclays. spectrum showed that distance basal BSN-03 was modified, indicating ammonium salt intercalated. Infrared data show incorporated into...
The latest technologies require materials with combination of properties that are not usually found in conventional materials. Organic-inorganic hybrid emerge as alternatives to the synthesis low cost new functional constituent polymer-clay nanocomposites intended effectively for treatment oily effluents. removal effluents was evaluated using composite membranes different nanocomposite percentages, consisting a mineral clay BrasgelTM smaller than 2 μm and ultra high molecular weight...
Cationic surfactants, such as quaternary ammonium cations, have been used, in order to ameliorate the oil sorption capacity of inorganics materials, clays. Clays modified with cations (organoclays) better performance sorption, remove and grease from water at seven times rate activated carbon, well they can be used like perforation fluids wells base, lubricants, among others industries. This work aims characterize Cloisite 30B using various techniques: X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Specific...
This work presents an experimental study focusing on the preparation and characterization of modified natural green clay-mud with quaternary ammonium salts chloride alkyl dimethyl benzyl (Dodigen) stearyl (Praepagen). X ray Diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR) expansion tests (adsorption capacity Foster swelling) measurements were performed in order to evaluate performance ion exchange reactions degree affinity oil products. It is observed increasing XRD basal spacing clays (1.96 nm...
Clays modified with quaternary ammonium salts, organoclays, have an affinity for organic compounds undergoing expansion. In this study, the smectite clay Chocolate" A" was subjected to process of organophilization ammoniumchloride, stearyl dimethyl chloride (Praepagen WB) improve its hydrophobic properties and thus increase compounds. The samples were characterized by X ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy tests expansion swelling Foster. results showed appropriate conditions...
The zeolites differ from traditional adsorbents for selective adsorption of small molecules, the high capacity at low concentrations and affinity organic compounds unsaturated polar molecules. In this work a Y-type zeolite was synthesized, characterized by x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy nitrogen subjected to test where it found that Y has potential compared other materials being studied marketed.
Background: This work presents the preparation and characterization of polymeric nanocomposites based on methyl methacrylate (MMA), ethyl acrylate (EA), natural modified clays. The clays used to prepare composite were green bentonite (GBC-N) organophilic with ammonium quaternary salts: Praepagen (GCB-P), Dodigen (GCB-D) Praepagen/Dodigen mixture 1:1 in weight (GCB-P/D). Objective: experimental studies focused evaluation effect (in nature chemically modified) final quality containing around 3...
The organoclays contain intercalated organic molecules in their structural layers. more clay used to prepare are those derived from the smectite group bentonites mainly due small size of crystals and high cation exchange capacity, which facilitate intercalation compounds. This work aims obtain a mixture two different quaternary ammonium salts 1:1 ratio through direct method organophilization. procedure will be performed using Chocolate municipality Boa Vista, Paraíba state, has its...
