The flotation chemistry of soluble salts has been studied for many decades. In this work, the behavior arcanite (K2SO4) and epsomite (MgSO4·7H2O) with both cationic collector, dodecylamine hydrochloride (DAH), anionic sodium dodecyl-sufate (SDS), studied. results show that K2SO4 can be floated collectors at natural pH. contrast, MgSO4·7H2O cannot by either collector. indicate response these explained based on surface charge considerations. It is now known interfacial water structure found to...
The characteristics of Huimin high phosphorus limonite ore and the beneficiation this iron by sodium-carbonate-added carbothermic reduction, ultrafine grinding magnetic separation were investigated. Iron particle size in reduced without Na2CO3 additive is tiny fayalite abundant. It indicated that formation main hindrance to accelerate reduction limonite. With a mass ratio Na2O3 10% additive, can be reinforced. reinforcing affect may caused increase reducing reaction activity FeO acceleration...
The synergistic effects between sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS) and a mixed fatty acids collector for apatite flotation were investigated. SDS benefitted the at pH 9.5. TOC measurements showed that addition of improved surfactants adsorption surface. colloidal size suggested utilizing prevented over-packing in solution. Additionally, did not adsorb/co-adsorb surface as revealed by FTIR XPS results, because strong electrostatic repulsion ions.
The surface features of fluorapatite (FA, Ca5(PO4)3F) and dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2) conditioned with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) were examined through flotation experiments, contact angle tests, time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), FTIR experiments. results suggested that oleate insufficiently adsorbed onto the H2SO4-treated FA such remained hydrophilic. However, using as a collector, recovery hydrophobicity satisfactory. TOF-SIMS studies indicated sulfate anion bound Ca atoms on...
Chloride ions were found to potentially increase activity of cerussite surfaces. Dissolution experiments, zeta potential measurements, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) studies, and density functional theory (DFT) computation conducted in this study. experiments showed that the lead ion concentrations NaCl solution system lower than those deionized water + Na2S aqueous systems decreased by approximately one order magnitude compared with alone. Results measurements revealed pretreatment...
