The dependence of plasma energy confinement on minor radius, density and current is described for Ohmically heated near-circular plasmas in Doublet III. A wide range parameters used the study scaling laws; radius defined by flux surface contact with limiter varied a factor 2 (a = 44, 32 23 cm) , line average density, e, 20 from 0.5 to 10 × 1013 cm−3 (e R0/BT 0.3 6 1014 cm−2·kG−1) current, I, 120 718 kA. safety factor, qL, 12. – For cm, law at low e gross electron time can be written as (s,...
Observation of the intensity recycling particle flux at main plasma edge for various limiter and divertor discharges indicates that gross energy confinement beam-heated is closely related to flux. In discharges, global time τE show many similarities: 1) linear Ip dependence < 600 kA, 2) no BT dependence, 3) deterioration against injection power. Improvement by increasing Ip, example, associated with high temperatures region accompanied reduced recycling. – Divertor low around better than...
Neutral-beam-heated expanded-boundary (XB) divertor discharges have been obtained in Doublet III with high heating efficiency for wide ranges of plasma parameters (Ip: 300–800 kA; BT: 8–24kG; e :(2–10) × 1013cm−3; Pb < 4.5 MW, βp ≤ 1.6, βt 2.8%). The improved is well correlated a configurational change from limiter to XB discharges. beam-heated, fully diverted limiter/separatrix distance greater than 1.5 cm exhibit an improvement up factor two energy confinement time. τE increases...
We point out that the creation of a soliton pulse train in nonlinear-dispersive system can be used for generation high-power microwave bursts. A modulated transmission line with an appropriate nonlinear dielectric is proposed. The wave evolution analyzed and requirements material are found. Problems associated discussed. Low-power experimental demonstrations these concepts presented.
Using a neutral-beam injection power of 3.4 M W, volume-averaged toroidal betas up to ⟨βT⟩ = 4.5% have been obtained in low-toroidal-field, low-qψ, vertically elongated discharges the Doublet III tokamak. This level is above minimum required for tokamak reactor, thus demonstrating that reactor values are possible device. The observed enhancement with vertical elongation lends confidence design future devices which rely on elongation.
We present experimental and numerical evidence of temporal contraction electromagnetic pulses propagating in nonuniform, nonlinear dispersive transmission lines. The are both contracted amplified by orders magnitude.
We have measured the emission lines of heliumlike Ti xxi impurity radiation from Ohmically heated Doublet-III tokamak plasma discharges. The wavelengths are in good agreement with recent theoretical and experimental results. line-intensity ratios also for pure-dielectronic-recombination satellite lines. Furthermore, collisional inner-shell excitation processes observed to contribute significantly q plasmas.
In the paper aim of an interdisciplinary research is presented. The method introduced. An object unmanned autonomous maritime vehicle briefly described. key problem concerns a combined model motion including loads lift and hydrodynamic nature. takes into account gravity displacement forces, resistance thrust other forces. One major tasks to precisely predict position vehicle. To do that integrated acquiring, analyzing processing signals necessary. processed may then be used for precise...
Results are presented for multiple deuterium pellet injection into both the Ohmic phase and beam heated of Doublet III discharges. Pellet experiments were carried out using an injector, built at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which has capability firing up to 40 hydrogen or pellets per second a speed 800 m·s−1. For used in this experiment, one raises line average density 1.3 × 1013 cm−3. In phase, penetrate deep plasma, but with 2.2 MW neutral heating they only half as deep. This difference...
Toroidal rotation of the central plasma core has been observed prior to and during electron cyclotron heating (ECH) in Doublet III tokamak [in Plasma Physics Controlled Nuclear Fusion Research 1984, Proceedings Tenth International Conference, London (IAEA, Vienna, 1985), Vol. 1, p. 131]. Measurements were made using a curved-crystal Bragg x-ray spectrometer with spectral resolution λ/Δλ greater than 19 000 temporal 20 msec. Ion velocity was determined from Doppler shift x rays emitted...
Diffuse optical tomography (DOT) is an emerging functional medical imaging modality with aims to recover the properties of biological tissue. The forward problem light propagation DOT can be modelled in frequency domain as a diffusion equation Robin boundary conditions. In case multilayered geometries piecewise constant parameters, equivalent set coupled Helmholtz equations. this paper we present solution for diffuse three-layer concentric sphere model using series expansion method and...
