Synovial sarcoma comprises approximately 10% of all soft tissue tumors. Primary cardiac synovial is exceedingly rare and accounts for <1% primary These tumors are highly aggressive with survival <1 year, even surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. We describe the case a 45-year-old gentleman heart, metastasizing to lung. The tumor was resected, patient underwent chemotherapy regression lung nodules.
We present a case of coronary artery bypass grafting in 78-year-old man with triple vessel disease and concomitant cardiac amyloidosis. Postoperatively, he developed profound low output state multiorgan failure. He died 3 weeks following surgery. Bypass surgery is rarely performed patients amyloidosis, there little the literature regarding outcomes. The few published cases bleak picture, hence percutaneous intervention should always be preferred.
A 43-year-old man with Austrian syndrome, the triad of infective endocarditis (IE), pneumonia and meningitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, underwent emergency aortic mitral valve replacement closure an root abscess. Postoperatively, he required mechanical circulatory support veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation intra-aortic balloon pump. Several days after surgery, new paraprosthetic leaks (PPLs) developed. These were managed conservatively, initially, but eventually...
We present the case of a 23-year-old woman with long-standing history recurrent left-sided pleural effusion unrelated to her menstrual cycle. At last presentation, non-contrast-enhanced chest CT showed and lower left hemithorax mass, both large enough cause complete collapse lobe partial upper lobe. Thoracoscopic surgery revealed multilobulated mass originating from dome diaphragm deposits. Histopathology diagnosed this as calcifying fibrous tumour pleura, rare benign excellent prognosis...
An 88-year-old woman presented with sudden onset sharp upper abdominal pain associated anorexia, vomiting and weight loss. Examination revealed a tender palpable mass in the epigastrium without any abnormal blood tests. A CT scan showed 12 cm cystic gallbladder not identified, separate from liver pancreas (figure 1). Ultrasound confirmed lesion as sludge. cholecystostomy was initially performed, draining 600 mL …
A 23-year-old man was referred to our unit for surgery a right-sided recurrent primary spontaneous pneumothorax. On the eve of his surgery, he consented and marked procedure. examination patient, play symbol tattoo noted on left side patient’s torso pointing towards side, with potential cause confusion site surgery. black arrow in indelible ink drawn right shoulder indicate correct (figure 1). Figure 1 Which is surgical site? Photograph male …
Modern imaging techniques provide evermore-detailed anatomical and physiological information for use in computational fluid dynamics to predict the behaviour of phenomena. Computer modelling can help plan suitable interventions. Our group used magnetic resonance study haemodynamic variables ascending aorta patients with bicuspid aortic valve before after isolated tissue replacement. requires turning a model into mathematical one, solvable by equations that undergo multiple iterations four...
Background/IntroductionThe St. Jude Medical Trifecta aortic supra-annular bioprosthesis is regarded as the next generation in pericardial stented tissue valves. The unique design of leaflets attached to exterior valve stent provides unrivalled in-vivo mean gradients and haemodynamics.

Aims/ObjectivesThe aim this prospective study was evaluate midterm haemodynamic performance implanted into patients under 65.
A 60-year-old lady with a past history of rheumatic mitral stenosis (MS), percutaneous valvuloplasty and persistent atrial fibrillation represented heart failure. Cardiac ECHO confirmed severe MS, moderate tricuspid aortic valve regurgitation pulmonary hypertension. She underwent replacements, repair left appendage clip. developed LV wall rupture defect. Cardiogenic shock persisted despite IABP counter-pulsation escalating inotropic support. Central veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane...
