The present study focused on identifying risk factors for early readmission of patients discharged from an urban community hospital. Retrospective chart reviews were conducted 207 consecutive inpatient psychiatric admissions that included who readmitted within 15 days, 3 to 6 months, and not admitted at least 12 months post-discharge. Findings indicated a diagnosis schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder (OR = 18; 95% CI 2.70-117.7; p < 0.05), history alcohol abuse 9; 1.80-40.60; number...

Eating disorders (EDs) are associated with elevated suicide. Low body mass index (BMI) and frequency of purging binge eating represent severity criteria for EDs distinguish full-threshold from other specified feeding (OSFED). However, no work has taken a transdiagnostic approach to studying whether these or features is suicidal ideation (SI) attempts.

The braided multielectrode probe (BMEP) is an ultrafine microwire bundle interwoven into a precise tubular structure, which designed to be used as invasive neural consisting of multiple microelectrodes for electrophysiological recording and stimulation. Significant advantages BMEPs include highly flexible mechanical properties leading decreased immune responses after chronic implantation in tissue dense recording/stimulation sites (24 channels) within the 100-200 µm diameter. In addition,...

Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing is a component of personalized medicine intended to improve therapeutic outcomes by predicting the likelihood drug response and adverse effects based on an individual's genetic composition. However, despite increasing availability PGx testing, lack physician knowledge due insufficient medical education institutional support major barrier its clinical adoption. To explore attitudinal barriers integration into care, we surveyed Medical Genetics professionals gauge...

Abstract Objective Individuals with eating disorders (EDs) display elevated rates of suicidality (i.e., suicidal ideation and behaviors) as well nonsuicidal self‐injury (NSSI) (e.g., self‐harm behaviors without intent to die). NSSI—and particularly the functions NSSI—predict in general samples; however, our knowledge, relation between NSSI ED populations has been unexplored. Method This study examined whether specific are relevant a treatment‐seeking sample women EDs ( n = 100). Participants...
