In the eastern part of Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB) in northeastern (NE) China, scattered outcrops molasse deposits mark ending an orogeny and are crucial for understanding evolution Paleo-Asian Ocean (PAO). However, timing tectonic events relationships among these strata remain controversial. To better constrain geologic events, a comprehensive study detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology geochemistry sandstones Kaishantun (KST) Formation Kedao (KD) Group Jilin Province, NE was conducted....

We present zircon U–Pb dating, whole-rock geochemistry, and Sr–Nd isotope results for the Upper Permian–Upper Triassic volcanic rocks to constrain timing of final closure eastern segment Palaeo-Asian Ocean. The were mainly collected from Yanbian area in Jilin Province, northeastern China. dating indicate that samples can be classified as Permian–Lower basalts (ca. 262–244 Ma) dacites 216 Ma). geochemical predominately belong medium-K high-K calc-alkaline series. are enriched large ion...

We report zircon U–Pb geochronologic and geochemical data for the post-collisional volcanic rocks from Batamayineishan (BS) Formation in Shuangjingzi area, northwestern China. The ages of seven samples BS show that magmatic activity study area occurred during 342–304 Ma Carboniferous. also indicate Palaeo-Karamaili Ocean had already closed by 342 Ma. Moreover, contained 10 inherited zircons with ranging 565 to 2626 Ma, indicating Precambrian continental crust or microcontinents accretionary...

In this study, we present detrital zircon U–Pb ages and Hf isotopic data whole-rock geochemical from meta-sedimentary rocks of the Jiangyu Group in eastern Jilin Province (Northeast China) to constrain late Silurian – Early Devonian tectonic evolution southeastern Xing’an–Mongolia Orogenic Belt. Two samples yielded concordant ranging 2926 415 Ma, youngest populations two weighted mean 427 ± 3 426 respectively. Combined with reliable published muscovite 40 Ar- 39 Ar 408 Ma overlying...

The Changchun–Yanji suture in Jilin Province, NE China is generally interpreted to mark the closure position of Paleo–Asian Ocean along north margin North Craton. However, issue about early–middle Paleozoic tectonic evolution this region has long been debated. In order provide evidence for resolving issue, we carried out a geochemical and zircon U–Pb–Hf study on Fangniugou Taoshan volcanic rocks from area zone. Laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (LA–ICP–MS) U–Pb...

In this study, we present new zircon U-Pb and Hf isotope data geochemical analyses for Jurassic igneous rocks from the southern Zhangguangcai Range, NE China. context of our U/Pb together with other published (n = 165), recognize three major magmatic pulses in eastern Songnen Block during Jurassic: earliest (200–195 Ma), late Early (183–175 Ma) early Late (ca. 163 Ma). According to petrological classification scheme, are divided into two categories andesite I-type granitoids. Generally,...

The Late Paleozoic–Early Mesozoic tectonic evolution of the Changchun-Yanji suture (CYS) was mainly associated with Paleo-Asian and Mudanjiang regimes. However, spatial temporal overprinting variations these two regimes remains are still dispute. In order to evaluate this issue, in contribution, we present new zircon U-Pb ages a whole-rock geochemical Hf isotopic dataset on suite metamorphic rocks, including gneisses, actinolite schist, leptynites, biotite schists, from mélanges northern...

The precise age of slab rollback the Paleo-Pacific Plate during Early Cretaceous has been contentious. In this study, we have conducted LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating, major and trace elements, Sr-Nd isotopes analyses on late diabase porphyries, andesitic basalts basanites in Yanbian area (NE China). Zircon dating basanites, basalts, porphyries yielded weighted average ages 104 ± 1.9 Ma (MSWD = 0.55, n 5), 106 1.6 0.68, 6), 111 2 16, 3), respectively. whole-rock geochemical results indicate...
