In the eastern part of Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB) in northeastern (NE) China, scattered outcrops molasse deposits mark ending an orogeny and are crucial for understanding evolution Paleo-Asian Ocean (PAO). However, timing tectonic events relationships among these strata remain controversial. To better constrain geologic events, a comprehensive study detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology geochemistry sandstones Kaishantun (KST) Formation Kedao (KD) Group Jilin Province, NE was conducted....
A major breakthrough in shale gas exploration and development has been made concerning the black of Upper Ordovician Lower Silurian. In recent years, significant progresses have regarding Accordingly, we investigated petrological geochemical characteristics from WF2‐LM5 graptolite biozones performed a source analysis quartz as well evaluated its effect on reservoirs. The mainly contains clay, carbonate, with average TOC 2.21%. Three types, Q 1 , 2 3 were identified via cathodoluminescence...
We report zircon U–Pb geochronologic and geochemical data for the post-collisional volcanic rocks from Batamayineishan (BS) Formation in Shuangjingzi area, northwestern China. The ages of seven samples BS show that magmatic activity study area occurred during 342–304 Ma Carboniferous. also indicate Palaeo-Karamaili Ocean had already closed by 342 Ma. Moreover, contained 10 inherited zircons with ranging 565 to 2626 Ma, indicating Precambrian continental crust or microcontinents accretionary...
Lower–Middle Ordovician platform carbonates are important oil and gas reservoir rocks in the Ordos Basin of North China craton (NCC). In recent years, numerous cores have been recovered from these units, but depositional environments facies architecture this large carbonate system not yet reported detail. This study integrates sedimentological magnetic fabric data collected outcrops to document variation microfacies associations within Shanganning (SCP), infer paleowind directions...
ABSTRACT Industrial shale oil/gas flow have been discovered in the Luanping Basin, and hydrocarbon potential of Lower Cretaceous Xiguayuan Formation (Luanping North China) has attracted attention geologists recent years. The paleoenvironmental conditions, provenance chert origin were studied using geochemistry lacustrine sediments Caoying section. A pronounced positive correlation between oxygen carbon isotopes autogenous carbonates indicates Early paleolake was an alternating depositional...
In this study, we present detrital zircon U–Pb ages and Hf isotopic data whole-rock geochemical from meta-sedimentary rocks of the Jiangyu Group in eastern Jilin Province (Northeast China) to constrain late Silurian – Early Devonian tectonic evolution southeastern Xing’an–Mongolia Orogenic Belt. Two samples yielded concordant ranging 2926 415 Ma, youngest populations two weighted mean 427 ± 3 426 respectively. Combined with reliable published muscovite 40 Ar- 39 Ar 408 Ma overlying...
The Changchun–Yanji suture in Jilin Province, NE China is generally interpreted to mark the closure position of Paleo–Asian Ocean along north margin North Craton. However, issue about early–middle Paleozoic tectonic evolution this region has long been debated. In order provide evidence for resolving issue, we carried out a geochemical and zircon U–Pb–Hf study on Fangniugou Taoshan volcanic rocks from area zone. Laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (LA–ICP–MS) U–Pb...
