In order to investigate the extent of resistance oriental fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel), which is a widespread pest throughout tropical, subtropical and temperate crops, 25 populations this insect were collected from 13 sites in mainland China 2007 2008. addition, resistant strains established that showed increasing development resistance.Compared with susceptible strain, one population B. expressed high (RR = 70.4-fold), 16 medium (11.5-fold < RR 25.8-fold) eight had low or...

Abstract The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae), is a polyphagous and highly destructive agricultural pest that invaded mainland China in 2019. To facilitate research on this pest, it important to formulate formalize suitable artificial diet based local ingredients. In study, the life histories of armyworm reared corn leaves four diets were recorded. used were: soybean sucrose-based (SS), wheat germ-based (SW), chickpea (CPW), soybean-based (CNS)....

Excessive insecticide applications are commonly used to manage Bactrocera cucurbitae Coquillett in China. Resistance status, resistance development trends, and patterns of cross-resistance insecticides B. were investigated. Among 21 populations from Hainan Island, two expressed high beta-cypermethrin; seven, eight, ten intermediate spinosad, avermectin, beta-cypermethrin, respectively; four, six, one, five, four low trichlorfon, fipronil, the remaining exhibited either minor or remained...

Changes in weather and management practices such as manure fertilizer applications have a major effect on nitrous oxide (N2O) nitric (NO) emissions from soils. N2O NO exhibit high intra- inter-annual fluctuations, which are also highly influenced by land-use change. In this study we investigated how change between grassland cornfield affects soil using long-term field measurements mollic andosol Southern Hokkaido, Japan. Soil were monitored for 5 years 30-year old (OG), was then plowed...

To present the susceptibility of Brontispa longissima (Gestro) (Coleoptera: Hispidae) to insecticides, 22 populations were collected in Southeast Asia from 2007 2010. Moreover, laboratory susceptible strain was maintained. The results demonstrated that lethal concentration50 value avermectin, β-cypermethrin, and acetamiprid 0.034, 0.024, 1.843 mg liter−1, respectively. Spodoptera frugiperda is a highly destructive and polyphagous pest that causes severe damage to various crops, especially maize. The wide use of chemical insecticides control S. results in resistance against commonly used chemicals resistant mutations will expand populations accompanied by spread vulnerable areas. Consequently, more effective friendly strategies must be explored minimize losses caused frugiperda. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) are good candidates for the biological...

Opisina arenosella has been an outbreak pest of coconut trees in southern China since 2013. To develop efficient control methods for this invasive pest, adequate rearing protocols are desirable. In study, orthogonal array artificial diets with 11 factors at 3 levels was deployed both 2nd–4th and 5th–6th instar larvae O. arenosella. In this study, we investigated the effects of environmental factors (temperature, dose, dietary source, and feeding density) on insecticide tolerance Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) (Diptera: Tephritidae). The results indicated that toxicities trichlorphon abamectin to B. increased with an increase in temperature. At 15–35°C, toxicity β-cypermethrin decreased temperature at low doses (0.82 1.86 mg/L), but was similar a high dose (4.18 mg/L). These demonstrated coefficient related both dosage....
