In order to investigate the extent of resistance oriental fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel), which is a widespread pest throughout tropical, subtropical and temperate crops, 25 populations this insect were collected from 13 sites in mainland China 2007 2008. addition, resistant strains established that showed increasing development resistance.Compared with susceptible strain, one population B. expressed high (RR = 70.4-fold), 16 medium (11.5-fold < RR 25.8-fold) eight had low or...
The objectives of this study were to clarify the effect chemical fertilizer and manure application on methane (CH4) nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from intensively managed grassland Andosols in Japan determine controlling factors CH4 N2O emissions. emission (EF) for both fertilizer- manure-induced calculated. Three experimental plots set up five grasslands across four climatic regions Japan: one plot treatment with (fertilizer plot); another cattle (manure plot), final was not treated or...

We previously reported that following a short-term product use period, of non-menthol Vuse Solo electronic cigarettes (ECs) resulted in effect-related subjective responses and nicotine uptake between those combustible (high-abuse liability comparator) gum (low-abuse comparator); the results were generally closer to gum.
Abstract The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae), is a polyphagous and highly destructive agricultural pest that invaded mainland China in 2019. To facilitate research on this pest, it important to formulate formalize suitable artificial diet based local ingredients. In study, the life histories of armyworm reared corn leaves four diets were recorded. used were: soybean sucrose-based (SS), wheat germ-based (SW), chickpea (CPW), soybean-based (CNS)....
Excessive insecticide applications are commonly used to manage Bactrocera cucurbitae Coquillett in China. Resistance status, resistance development trends, and patterns of cross-resistance insecticides B. were investigated. Among 21 populations from Hainan Island, two expressed high beta-cypermethrin; seven, eight, ten intermediate spinosad, avermectin, beta-cypermethrin, respectively; four, six, one, five, four low trichlorfon, fipronil, the remaining exhibited either minor or remained...
Changes in weather and management practices such as manure fertilizer applications have a major effect on nitrous oxide (N2O) nitric (NO) emissions from soils. N2O NO exhibit high intra- inter-annual fluctuations, which are also highly influenced by land-use change. In this study we investigated how change between grassland cornfield affects soil using long-term field measurements mollic andosol Southern Hokkaido, Japan. Soil were monitored for 5 years 30-year old (OG), was then plowed...
Abstract Abuse liability (AL) of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) is relevant as the category increases in popularity a potentially less-harmful alternative to cigarette smoking. AL assessments are important FDA determining if new product appropriate for protection public health. This paper reports results Vuse Solo (G2 cartridge design) compared high and low AL-comparators evaluated an open-label, randomized crossover confinement study. The design was adapted from previous...
To present the susceptibility of Brontispa longissima (Gestro) (Coleoptera: Hispidae) to insecticides, 22 populations were collected in Southeast Asia from 2007 2010. Moreover, laboratory susceptible strain was maintained. The results demonstrated that lethal concentration50 value avermectin, β-cypermethrin, and acetamiprid 0.034, 0.024, 1.843 mg liter−1, respectively. Compared with strain, 10 developed a medium level resistance avermectin (10.8-fold < ratio [RR] 34.7-fold) 11 had low or...
Spodoptera frugiperda is a highly destructive and polyphagous pest that causes severe damage to various crops, especially maize. The wide use of chemical insecticides control S. results in resistance against commonly used chemicals resistant mutations will expand populations accompanied by spread vulnerable areas. Consequently, more effective friendly strategies must be explored minimize losses caused frugiperda. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) are good candidates for the biological...
Opisina arenosella has been an outbreak pest of coconut trees in southern China since 2013. To develop efficient control methods for this invasive pest, adequate rearing protocols are desirable. In study, orthogonal array artificial diets with 11 factors at 3 levels was deployed both 2nd–4th and 5th–6th instar larvae O. arenosella. Biological parameters including survival time larvae, development from larva to pupa, pupation rate, emergence pupal weight were monitored reveal the most...
An assessment of the likelihood use and abuse potential for new tobacco products is an important part product regulation in United States abroad. This paper reports results a randomized, open-label, crossover clinical study that assessed factors related to adoption liability (AL), comparing two closed electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) combustible cigarettes gum, high- low-AL comparator products, respectively. During 11-day confinement period included multiple familiarization...

In this study, we investigated the effects of environmental factors (temperature, dose, dietary source, and feeding density) on insecticide tolerance Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) (Diptera: Tephritidae). The results indicated that toxicities trichlorphon abamectin to B. increased with an increase in temperature. At 15–35°C, toxicity β-cypermethrin decreased temperature at low doses (0.82 1.86 mg/L), but was similar a high dose (4.18 mg/L). These demonstrated coefficient related both dosage....
