Abstract BACKGROUND The Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri Kuwayama (Hemiptera: Liviidae), is one of the most serious pests in world, because it transmits pathogen that causes greening disease. To determine genetic variation among geographic populations D. , microsatellite markers, mitochondrial gene cytochrome oxidase I ( mtCOI ) and Wolbachia–Diaphorina wDi wsp sequence data were used to characterize Iranian Pakistani populations. Also, a Bayesian phylogenetic technique was utilized...
Glyphodes pyloalis Walker is a serious pest of mulberry trees in Iran. In this study, lethal (LC50 = 19 ppm) and sublethal effects (LC10 3.74 LC30 9.77 lufenuron were evaluated against 4 th instar larvae G. pyloalis. After treating the at LC50 level, most them died during molting process only few individuals developed to 5 larval instar. The highest rate mortality was observed (68.42%) pre-pupal (59.57%) stages concentration. Also, caused an increase larval, pupal developmental periods....
Abstract Female Dicondylus indianus were provided with host densities of 2, 4, 8, 10, 20, 40 or 60 for the duration their lives. Rates oviposition (and consequently parasitism) and host‐feeding varied both availability parasitoid age. The period intensive egg‐laying shifted from a later to an earlier age as increased. Whilst wasps oviposited fed less at lower densities, ratio feeding: attacks (F: O ratio), measured on lifetime total age‐specific basis, increased decreasing availability, in...
The development period of immature stages the green apple aphid, Aphis pomi (De Geer) (Homoptera: Aphididae), at 6 constant temperature regimes (20, 24, 28, 30, 32, and 34 degrees C) were modelled to determine mathematical functions for simulating aphid development. 10 models (one linear nine nonlinear), used describe relationships between rate different instars (DeGeer) temperatures. All (except logistic linear) provided accurate values optimum Ist, 2nd, 3rd, 4th larvae total results...
Abstract Life table studies are essential tools for understanding population dynamics. The life parameters of Aphis gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae) feeding on the host plant, Hibiscus syriacus L. were studied under laboratory (25±1°C and relative humidity 65±5% a photoperiod 16L : 8D h) field conditions (23-43°C, 27-95%). data analysed using age-stage, two-sex theory. started with 50 40 nymphs in conditions, respectively. Under A. reared H. had higher survival rate, fecundity,...
Predation rate and numerical response are basic to any investigation of predator–prey relationships key components in the selection predators for biological control. The density-dependent predation Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rondani) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) varying densities (5, 10, 20, 40, 60 80) third-instar Aphis craccivora (Koch) (Hemiptera: Aphididae), were studied laboratory conditions [23±1°C, 70 ± 5% relative humidity (RH), a photoperiod 16:8 h L:D. data analysed using age-stage,...
Abstract Chironomid larvae have a high reproduction capacity. Because of their excellent nutritional quality, they great potential in larval fish nutrition, specially bottom feeders like sturgeons. In this study, indoor production Chironomus riparius was performed by controlling the physicochemical factors and developing an appropriate condition for insect to complete life cycle. Enrichment lava conducted adding 0 (C0), 100 (C100), or 1000 (C1000) mg ascorbic acid 1 kg chicken manure (as...
Abstract The life table provides an integrated and comprehensive description of development times, survivorship, reproduction a population. Life parameters aphidophagous midge, Aphidoletes aphidimyza Rondani (Dip., Cecidomyiidae) on different densities (5, 10, 20, 40, 60, 80) third instar nymphs Aphis craccivora Koch as prey, were studiedat (25±1°C, 70±5% relative humidity (RH) photoperiod 16L : 8D h). There no significant differences among the adult pre-ovipositional periods (APOP) at prey...
The effect of spinosad on some biochemical characteristics Xanthogaleruca luteola was investigated. LC30 and LC50 for the third instar larvae were determined as 1.6 2.9 ppm, respectively. Biochemical tests carried out 3rd treated with spinosad. concentration decreased carbohydrate glycogen content increased lipid significantly. There a significant decrease in carbohydrate, glycogen, protein contents following exposure to concentration. Available energy exposed significantly, whereas it...
The development period of immature stages the green apple aphid, Aphis pomi (De Geer) (Homoptera: Aphididae), at six constant temperature regimens (20, 24, 28, 30, 32, and 34°C) was modeled to determine mathematical functions for simulating aphid development. Ten models (one linear nine nonlinear) were used describe relationships between rate different instars A. (DeGeer) temperatures. All (except logistic linear) provided accurate values optimum first-, second-, third-, fourth-instar larvae...
Angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier) is one of the most important pests stored products and known as factitious host for mass rearing insect natural enemies. Effect four commercial barely varieties including Fajr 30, Behrokh, Nik Yousef on life table parameters S. was determined at 26 ± 2 °C, 65 5% RH a photoperiod 12:12 h (L: D). Data were analyzed based age-stage, two-sex theory. The results revealed that there significant differences among various regarding developmental...
Due to the recent entrance of Harmonia axyridis Iran necessitates elucidating survival, development, and predation rate predator more fully. Therefore, age-stage, two-sex life table stage-specific models were used verify its potential as a biological control agent Aphis gossypii. The cycle lasted 92.33 days fecundity was 1375.79 eggs per female. intrinsic increase, net reproductive rate, mean generation time finite increase 0.151 day−1, 642.033 female offspring, 42.671 days, 1.161...
Abstract The predatory midge Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rondani) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) is widely used for the control of Aphis spp. in many agricultural systems. We aimed to determine most suitable host plant rearing midges on prey gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Six plants were selected: cucumber ( Cucumis sativus L. cv. Beith Alpha), tomato Solanum lycopersicum Falat111), eggplant melongena Yummy), pepper Capsicum annuum Bertene) (all Solanaceae), okra [ Abelmoschus esculentus (L.)...
