Abstract A new superparamagnetic nanoparticle‐supported ( S )‐diphenylprolinol trimethylsilyl ether (Jørgensen–Hayashi catalyst) was synthesized and applied for the asymmetric Michael addition of aldehydes to nitroalkenes in water, which gives products moderate good yields (up 96%), enantioselectivity 90% ee ) diastereoselectivities 99:1). This study investigated the removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in aqueous solutions using pomelo peel (PP) and FeCl3-modified (FPP) as novel biomass adsorbents.
