Proteinase-activated receptor 4 (PAR4) is a member of the proteolytically-activated PAR family G-Protein Coupled Receptors. PARs are activated following proteolytic cleavage N-terminus by enzymes such as thrombin, trypsin, and Cathepsin-G to reveal activating motif termed tethered ligand. The ligand binds intramolecularly trigger signaling trafficking cascades. can also be short synthetic peptides derived from sequence.

Abstract Proteinase Activated Receptor-4 (PAR4) is a member of the proteolytically-activated PAR family G-Protein-coupled Receptors (GPCRs). PARs are activated following proteolytic cleavage receptor N-terminus by enzymes such as thrombin, trypsin, and cathepsin-G to reveal receptor-activating motif termed tethered ligand. The ligand binds intramolecularly triggers signalling cellular responses. In spite this unusual mechanism activation, fundamentally peptide receptors can also be exogenous...
