An examination is made of the transient process output beam shaping in high-gain pulsed lasers with a short inversion lifetime. It shown that to obtain an diffraction-limited divergence such lasers, resonators large magnifications M must be used. Results are reported experiments on copper vapor lasers. Studies were at different levels excitation active medium over wide range variation M.

We have experimentally studied the nonradiative transport of excitation in a dense $[N$=(0.3-2.5)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{17}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}3}]$ potassium vapor. show that such high-density vapor diffusive via ``hopping'' dipole-dipole collisions between excited- and ground-state atoms is dominant over radiative through photons. The mechanism becomes visible fluorescence-excitation spectrum signal as sharp dip close to resonance frequency. appearance...

A reflectometric approach is proposed for the polling and multiplexing of sensitive elements on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). The method based power measurement radiation reflected by FBG using a conventional fiber-optic time-domain reflectometer. sensors time separation signals. Requirements diffraction that provide linear dependence received signal mechanical stress temperature are determined. In measurements relative elongation temperature, threshold sensitivities 0.8 × 10−4 (80 μstrain)...

When the gas particles, which can be considered as a two level quantum system, are affected by frequent collisions with buffer particles (thermal reservoir), spectral densities of Einstein coefficients for absorption and induced emission unequal to each other far from (emission) line. The relationship between at specified condition reveals new physical phenomena. mostly convincing example is fact that population inversion established in system under nonresonance optical excitation. This...

The interaction of a plane monochromatic traveling wave with two-level particles suffering collisions buffer-gas is considered. Collision rates are assumed to be velocity dependent. collision integral obtained on the basis strong-collision model, generalized case velocity-dependent (the so-called ``kangaroo'' model). We exact analytical solution problem for arbitrary intensity radiation, ratio homogeneous and Doppler widths absorption line, mass between absorbing- particles. solutions...

It is demonstrated that both standard and anomalous light-induced drift (LID) profiles as a function of laser frequency can be analytically simulated using the description LID in terms transport mean paths. This allows one to directly link arbitrary derivatives unsaturated absorption profile. In order test this approach, experiments have been performed on gaseous ethylene ${(}^{13}$${\mathrm{C}}^{12}$${\mathrm{CH}}_{4}$) for rovibrational transition (7,1,6)...

Abstract We theoretically study a new method for generating laser radiation by two-level system without population inversion in the ‘red’ wing of its spectral line under resonant absorption broadband from pump diodes. A simulates atoms an active gas atmosphere high-pressure buffer gas. The effect results fact that line, probability stimulated emission exceeds if homogeneous broadening due to interaction particles with significantly natural one (at high pressures gas). Analytical formulae are...
