Seed dormancy is a significant factor limiting the conservation, evaluation, distribution and utilisation of African cultivated rice, Oryza glaberrima . In this study, 20 accessions from AfricaRice genebank were grown at Mbé station in Côte d’Ivoire, harvested manually, dried 15% RH 15°C, stored -20°C for one month before use. Seeds underwent dry heat treatment 50 or 60°C 2, 4, 7, 14, 21 28 days, treated with: 0.5, 1, 1.5 2 M KCl; 0.022, 0.112,...
Abstract Utilizing the full potential of rice collections mainly depends on an in‐depth exploration and understanding vast diversity in its germplasm. The AfricaRice genebank holds largest collection germplasm originating from African continent. In present study, we comprehensively characterized a 9013 accessions, including Oryza barthii A. Chev., glaberrima Steud., longistaminata Chev. & Roehr., sativa L. ssp. indica , japonica for genetic population structure using...
