This work studied fast pyrolysis as a way to use the residual fiber obtained from shells of coconut ( Cocos nucifera L. var. Dwarf, Aracaju, northeastern Brazil). The bio-oil produced by and aqueous phase (formed during pyrolysis) were characterized GC/qMS GC×GC/TOF-MS. Many oxygenated compounds such phenols, aldehydes, ketones identified in extracts both phases, with high predominance phenolic compounds, mainly alkylphenols. Eighty-one 42 using GC/qMS, 95 68 same samples better performance...
Background Xanthan gum, a commercial microbial polysaccharide, has many industrial applications, including the tertiary recovery of oil, due to its unique rheological behavior (e. g. high viscosity at low concentrations, pseudoplasticity, solubility, stability over wide range pH values and temperatures, compatibility with salts) [1]. Its production employs glucose or sucrose, which raises price xanthan production. One way reduce cost is use cheaper alternative substrates, like residues [2]....
The biochar from slow pyrolysis under controlled conditions is favorable in the transformation of waste into materials that serve as soil conditioners, and/or environmental remediation. Thus, this work aimed to produce and characterize cassava different temperature evaluate interactions with Ca2+ Pb2+ for agricultural applications. To investigate efficiency interaction nutrients (Ca) contaminants (Pb), influence pH contact time were evaluated. There was an increase pH, pHzpc (zero point...
Background Biodiesel, an alternative energy source, has been attracting increasing worldwide interest in recent decades. It is obtained by base-catalyzed transesterification, resulting a final mixture consisting of mono-alkyl esters and other by-products (e.g. glycerol, alcohol, free fatty acids). This composition provides level operational quality control that enables biodiesel to be marketed efficiently, because its viability depends on several factors, such as stability during the storage...
Abstract The disposal of coconut wastes is costly and damaging to the environment, but its uses are advantageous activated carbons production. Coconut leaves waste were used for carbon production by pyrolysis at 500º C activation with potassium carbonate. was caffeine removal from aqueous solution. showed a predominantly amorphous structure X-ray diffraction analysis pH zero charge point 7.9. From N 2 adsorption/desorption method, adsorbent predominance mesopores, average pore size 45.48 ηm...
