Using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), we succeeded in observing the initial process of HBO molecule on Si(111)-7×7 surface for first time. Since HBO2 molecules are commonly used as B source molecular beam epitaxy system, and dominant flux from ordinary condition is form HBO, analysis reaction highly important. When substrate temperature was kept at room during irradiation, adsorbed remained without dissociation. With being increased, dissociation activated, oxygen- boron-related adatoms...

Starting from 2,6-dithienyl pyrylium perchlorates, the pyrylation reaction was used to obtain 2,6-dithienyl-4-arylpyrylium salts. These salts yield stable monolayers at air-water interface. Multilayers can be easily built up and films free of light scattering defects were obtained. Both solution Langmuir-Blodgett exposed iodine vapor seem lead a molecular complex while, on treatment with FeCl3, oxidation formation oligothiophenes have been detected.
