A lenticular-type super multi-view (SMV) display normally requires an ultra high-resolution flat-panel display. To reduce this resolution requirement, two or more views are generated around each eye with interval smaller than the pupil diameter. Cylindrical lenses constituting a lenticular lens project group of pixels to generate viewing zones. Pixel groups generating left and right zones through same cylindrical partitioned separate The pixel for different interlaced horizontally. prototype...

Walking is a fundamental physical activity in humans. Various virtual walking systems have been developed using treadmill or leg-support devices. Using optic flow, foot vibrations simulating footsteps, and avatar, we propose system that does not require limb action for seated users. We aim to investigate whether full-body hands-and-feet-only avatar with either the first-person (experiment 1) third-person 2) perspective can convey sensation of environment through flows vibrations. The viewing...

Coarse, rod-shaped precipitates growing along ⟨100⟩Al directions in an Al–1.0 wt% Mg2Si alloy with 0.5 Ag additions were investigated by high-resolution high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM). All had complex structures, being composed of domains separated anti-phase resembling boundaries. The consist a modified hexagonal β′-type structure that contains considerable amount Ag. Based on HAADF-STEM images, average atomic model space group P-62 m...

The generation of full-parallax and 360-degree three-dimensional (3D) images on a table screen is proposed. proposed system comprises small array high-speed projectors rotating screen. Because the has lens function, large number viewpoints are generated circle when rotates. Thus, 3D having horizontal parallax generated. all located at different heights from screen, they generate heights. Therefore, plural aligned in vertical direction to provide parallax. In this work, the early stage of precipitation have been investigated in a Mg–2.9 at% Gd–0.8 Y by high angle annular dark field-scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM) and resolution (HRTEM).At underaged condition, precipitates observed HRTEM were classified as follows; mono-layer, part β″, β′. By HAADF-STEM, zig-zag structure, small hexagonal network, β′ could be recognized. The "super hexagons" are first alloy. This referred to pre β″-phase, displays short range similar one...

Abstract A conflict between accommodation and vergence is one possible cause of visual fatigue discomfort while viewing conventional three‐dimensional displays. Previous studies have proposed the super multi‐view (SMV) display technique to solve vergence–accommodation conflict, in which two or more parallax images enter pupil eye with highly directional rays. We simultaneously measured accommodative, vergence, pupillary responses SMV displays examine whether they can reduce conflict. For...

In this study, the increase in depth of field (DOF) eyes by super multi-view (SMV) displays was examined using a recently developed reduced-view SMV display that generates viewpoints with an interval 2.6 mm. Two different three-dimensional (3D) images were used for accommodation measurements; one contains sharp edges, and other various soft edges. We found DOF increased even latter 3D image. Moreover, image approximately equal to or less than former, depending on subjects' point focus.

Creep rupture strength of creep enhanced ferritic steels is often overestimated, and its evaluated value has been reduced repeatedly. In this paper, the cause overestimation discussed, T91 steel assessed with updated data. Effects residual Ni concentration on necessity F factor in are also discussed. Decrease activation energy Q for life long-term overestimation, since conventional time–temperature parameter (TTP) methods cannot deal change Q. Due to decrease Q, decreases as longer-term data...
