This article is an eventual consensus of experts from the European Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Study Group (EURO-MUSCULUS) and in Physical Rehabilitation Medicine (USPRM) pertaining to use musculoskeletal ultrasound physical rehabilitation medicine. Nineteen important reasons (as regards general advantages, specific conditions medicine, as well comparisons with other imaging tools) have been highlighted consolidate scenario how/why probe needs become stethoscope, extended hand, pen physiatrists.
In this dynamic scanning protocol, ultrasound assessment of the adult hip is described using different maneuvers for various conditions. Real-time patient examination and videos are coupled convenience as well better insight. The text covers common conditions around where especially provides valuable information in addition to static imaging. protocol prepared by an international consensus several experts field musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Witteveen–Kolk syndrome (WITKOS) is an exceptionally uncommon genetic and neurodevelopmental disorder, characterized by developmental delay, mild intellectual disability, craniofacial dysmorphic features. Although cleft palate (CP) has rarely been reported in WITKOS, CP this condition not assessed detail. Here, we present a case of WITKOS with CP. The patient was 2-year-old male he referred to our clinic clinical findings. Screening for should be considered when diagnosis made. repair can...
Objective: No studies have investigated muscle strength and thickness in adolescents with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). We whether there were changes quadriceps between PCOS controls. Secondly, we evaluated the effects of six months combined oral contraceptive (COC) treatment on muscle.
Abstract Aim To explore the relationship among clinical, radiological and ultrasonographical findings in knee osteoarthritis ( OA ). Method Sixty‐one patients (122 knees) with were enrolled. Patients' knees classified into two groups according to symptom severity. Group I consisted of 61 more symptomatic II comprised less knees. Subjects clinically assessed for pain functional status by using a visual analog scale Western Ontario McMaster Universities Arthritis Index WOMAC ), respectively....
Background Different strengthening exercises are generally prescribed to overcome the undesirable effects of decreased muscular function on osteoarthritic joint. Although a few studies have shown muscle structure in healthy individuals, literature lacks relevant data concerning knee osteoarthritis. Objective To evaluate different quadriceps strength and persons with Design A randomized controlled study. Setting Physical medicine rehabilitation department university hospital. Population...
Rib fractures are the most common injuries resulting from blunt chest trauma. The sensitivity of X-rays in showing rib is limited particularly those involving cartilage part rib. We investigated possible fractures, overlooked on X-rays, with use ultrasonography minor trauma.A total 37 patients, trauma no evidence a fracture were examined performed 7.5-MHz linear transducer. Logistic regression analysis was done to outline clinical predictors these insidious fractures.A 15 (40.5%) patients...
Objective: To evaluate the possible risk factors of heterotopic ossification (HO) in traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients. Methods: A total 151 patients with TBI were included. Demographical variables, laboratory investigations and for HO including spasticity, walking ability (using Functional Ambulation Category (FAC)), pressure ulcer, neurogenic bladder systemic infection recorded. Results: Fifty-six (37.1%) had HO. Time since serum ALP ESR levels significantly higher than non-HO patients....
