Insect gut microbes have important roles in host feeding, digestion, immunity, development, and coevolution with pests. The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (Smith, 1797), is a major migratory agricultural pest worldwide. effects of plant on the pest’s bacteria remain to be investigated better understand their coevolution. In this study, differences bacterial communities were examined for fifth sixth instar larvae S. fed leaves different plants (corn, sorghum, highland barley, citrus)....

Perovskite BiFeO3 films with various thicknesses were prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates by metal organic decomposition method. It was found that, the film thickness increasing from 35 to 120 nm, grain and ferroelectric domain size slightly increased, while saturation magnetization Ms abruptly decreased. For further increase of thickness, decreased slowly unit area exhibited a fluctuation behavior. Moreover, magnetic anisotropy degenerated thickness. The possible causes for effects discussed.

The mitochondrial genomes (mitogenomes) of scale insects are less known in comparison to other insects, which hinders the phylogenetic and evolutionary studies Coccoidea higher taxa. Herein, complete mitogenomes Unaspis yanonensis , Planococcus citri Ceroplastes rubens were sequenced for Coccoidea. 15,220-bp long mitogenome U. contained typical set 37 genes including 13 PCGs, 22 tRNA two rRNA genes; 15,549-bp P. lacked gene trnV ; 15,387-bp C. exhibited several shortened PCGs five genes....

Citrus huanglongbing (HLB) is present in 10 provinces China and associated with 'Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus' (CLas), which transmitted by the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri, ACP). To date, HLB ACP have expanded to Yibin city of Sichuan Province, posing an imminent threat belt upper middle reaches Yangtze River, important late-maturing citrus-producing area China. understand epidemiological route CLas newly invaded regions thereby better establish interception zone ranging from...

Haplodiplatyidae is a recently established earwig family with over 40 species representing single genus, Haplodiplatys Hincks, 1955. The morphology of has been studied in detail, but its molecular characters remain unclear. In this study, two mitogenomes aotouensis Ma & Chen, 1991, were sequenced based on samples from Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, respectively. These represent the first for Haplodiplatyidae. next-generation sequencing method subsequent automatic assembly obtained...

Quantum chemical calculations at B3LYP/6-31G* and B3P86/6-31G* levels are used to predict the bond dissociation energies (BDEs) of seven nitrotriazole derivatives. It is noted that BDEs initial scission step between 44 70 kcal/mol, which larger than those piperidine diazocine compounds polynitro benzoate molecules. In addition, substituent groups greatly affect title compounds. The heats formation (HOFs) for energetic materials also calculated via designed isodesmic reactions. From...

The Zr0.5Hf0.5VPO7 is successfully synthesized by the solid-state method with near-zero thermal expansion. Powder x-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, dilatometry, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are used to investigate structure, phase transition, coefficient of expansion (CTE) Zr0.5Hf0.5VPO7. investigation results show that samples single cubic type a space group at room temperature (RT). The complete mitochondrial genome of the citrus leafminer, Phyllocnistis citrella (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) was sequenced for first time, which 15,416 bp in length and with an A + T content 81.9%. common set 37 genes (13 PCGs, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes) were all annotated. Most PCGs had standard ATN start codons TAN stop codons. exhibited typical cloverleaf secondary structures, whereas dihydrouridine (DHU) arm trnSer (AGN) reduced. phylogenetic analyses consistently recovered...
